[3] When you've lost your light~
Characters: Selphie and YOU
Where: Hospital and anywhere else in the city! Wanna play? Send a ping! :D
When: Nov. 13 and onward
Summary: Selphie wakes up from Crystal Stasis and while most things are normal... something isn't right.
Warnings: n/a yet.
Hospital - Nov. 13
[ The crystal faded as Selphie was released from its grasp. She sat up in the bed in the hospital and felt the strap of her tank top fall off her shoulder. She could hear the guards outside the room, calling for reinforcements just as she felt the familiar weight of Jaelyn on her shoulder. The perky brunette rubs at her left eye as she moves to pat her moogle. ]
Jaelyn...?
Who were you expecting?
What day is it?
The thirteenth. You've been out for two weeks and there's some things you need to know.
[ Selphie yawns before standing up and moving toward the door. There's a chill in the air that she didn't remember and it races through her body the moment her feet hit the floor. She opens the door and is greeted with a weapon being thrust in her face. Of course she's heard about this happening but it's the first time for her as she steps back with her hands up in the air. She smiles nervously. ]
Um... good morning?
Anywhere Else in Aqures Ixen - Nov. 14 and Onward
[ Are you lurking near Cuppa Kupo? Maybe you're at the market buying groceries and Selphie's trying to carry on with her days the best that she can. There might be a couple people who may be able to figure that something isn't quite all right with the perky brunette but she'll definitely do her best to fake anyone out who inquires about her general well being.
There's a lot for Selphie to think about but hey, maybe a distraction is in order?]
[ooc; If you don't see something you think would be fun, random or just plain silly, add in a comment!]

Hospital
Eventually he makes his way to the hospital because it's where he feels the most useful. He'd often set up clinics in the Facility whenever they'd go to F3's and then again in C3 in the last world too. So Sora is here to see if there's anything he can do to help. Maybe even get a job here at some point. That requires knowing what he needs for that occupation.
It puts him a perfect position to hear a familiar voice behind him - one he hasn't heard in a while since the Doctors gave him memories of going back to his home world of Destiny Islands. Sora turns on the spot and that's a face he knows to go along with the voice.]
Selphie? What are you doing here?
no subject
She'd barely gotten to know the other Sora before he'd entered Crystal Stasis and here she is, staring at the same boy. She blinks a little bit in disbelief, pointing toward the wing where the heroes in Crystal Stasis are kept before smiling cheerfully at the keyblade master.]
I just woke up. Seems like I've been in stasis for the past two weeks.
[This conversation is going to be awkward for Selphie because she knows that she isn't the Selphie that he's thinking of.]
What about you? What brings you to the hospital?
no subject
The way she's staring at him should be a clue. It should tell him that she isn't the one he knows. She also looks older than he remembers but that could be explained if she'd been here a long while.]
Oh, I didn't realize. [Mostly because he hasn't gone in to see anyone who was in stasis. To him it seemed too much like watching his friends inside their pods - wondering if they were ever going to wake up again or if they'd be terminated.] How long have you been here?
[Long enough to have been in stasis pretty much the entire time he's been here.]
I was thinking about getting a job here, doing what I can to help out. Maybe continuing my training too.
no subject
It's okay, I went to sleep one night in October and the next thing I know, I'm here in the hospital. It happens pretty often so you get used to it. I've been here since March of this year. I was for a little bit the year before as well too but listen.
[She looks at him directly and smiles sadly. She's also a little wiser and more honest with herself.]
I'm not who you think I am.
[She may not be the same Selphie but she still smiles as sweetly as that one may have.]
It doesn't mean that we can't be friends though! As for getting a job here... we could ask one of the nurses. And hey if you wanna continue training, there's a training school here. There's all kinds of different styles there too. I've been learning how to use a sword lately.
[She reaches for one of Sora's hands and already feels herself perking back up.]
C'mon, the nurses station is this way.
no subject
I won't get used to it. [Sora hadn't gotten used to it when people went comatose back in the Facility in the three years he'd been there - not even when he could sit beside their bodies all day and night.] You must be pretty strong by now.
[And then she says it. Says the words so many other people have said to him over the years. His eyes widen and Sora looks away immediately to hide the hurt. It seemed everyone he knew had a double out there somewhere.]
No, it's not your fault. I should've known better by this point.
[Who's next? Riku? Kairi?
He pushes aside the feeling of crushed hope at seeing someone from home and turns back to smile at Selphie. It's a small one, he knows, and maybe even a little forced. Selphie's offering him the chance to be friends and he's sure they could be great ones. But that doesn't stop it from hurting.]
Yeah, that'd be great. You can tell me all about the world you do come from. [
And crush him even more by mentioning Leon.Sora nods at her suggesting talking to one of the nurses.] Not training for any weapon, I meant medical training. A few years ago I couldn't always rely on magic to heal people so I started learning how to treat wounds without it.[Selphie's reaching for his hands and he lets her take them - preparing himself to be pulled along behind her.] Though I probably could stand to learn to use other weapons.
[Leon had been helping him with some hand-to-hand stuff whenever he was around.]
Right, let's go.
no subject
I'm not as strong as you think I am, either.
[She knows hurt when she sees it. She saw him look away and regretted saying those words to him instantly. More guilt to layer on top of the guilt that rested in her heart. She hesitates briefly, loosening the grip on his hands before reestablishing the contact.]
Oh! That'll be handy. And don't worry so much. I'll introduce you to Chrom and some of the other people I know who can help you with weapons training. Healing stuff though...
[A pause.]
Let's just head for the nurse's station.
[She leads the way to the familiar station, ready for another chiding about not staying out of trouble.]
Look, Sora? I'm sorry if I'm upset you.
no subject
Sora smiles back at her - bigger and brighter this time, squeezing her hands in return.] We're all stronger than we think, otherwise we wouldn't be standing here today.
[When it seems impossible to go on that's when they get help from their friends, it strengthens them until they can support themselves a little better. Like now. It doesn't hurt so much knowing that she's not the Selphie he knew because she made it better.]
Back in the last world I was in, I ran a free clinic for the residents of the city. [That's a name he hasn't heard as of yet.] I'd appreciate it, the only thing I'm good at is swinging a Keyblade around.
[Sora follows after her. Then she speaks up and he immediately shakes his head.]
It has happened before and I used to handle it a whole lot better but... it keeps happening and that's what's upsetting. But it isn't your fault so you don't gotta apologize or feel bad.
no subject
And strong in our ways. I just hope that everything turns out all right in the end. There's no time to be giving up now.
[She's never thought to open a clinic to help those who needed healing but she has employed a similar enough idea that she can't help feeling that Sora will be okay. Things may feel a little off to the perky brunette still but something told her that he'd pull through.]
You should stop by Cuppa Kupo some time. I make a pretty mean cup of tea these days and you never know who you'll run into while you're there. Anytime, you wanna meet somebody that I might know, lemme know and I'll arrange a meeting or something.
