"Augh! C'mon! There's got to be something in here!" In Twilight's mind, the meeting didn't go too well - it seemed like the biggest problem was that there were those so bent on saving everyone and everything that trying anything else beyond that felt impossible. They had to save everything or nothing at all, it felt. Or at the very least, that's how it seemed.

So, maybe there was a bit of her who wanted to entertain that idea. Which was probably why Twilight was busy flipping the entire lab upside down in search of something, anything, that could possibly give that idea something plausible. And so far, nothing.

"This is silly...!" Twilight muttered. "I understand the need to protect everyone, but I feel like this is an exercise in futility..."

[With Mary spending a bit more time working with the Assassins in Aerilon again, Bonnie had been given the orders to watch over the others while she was out of town. This was both to observe them in case anything happened, but to also lend a hand if needed.

Bonnie's observed Twilight hard at work but all the things she was working on went over the little moogle's head. Still, with the frantic way she was running around she felt compelled to pipe up from her vantage point on top of a bookshelf.]

It's okay, kupo. We know you're trying your hardest.

Huh? [Twilight stopped in her frantic run, spotting Bonnie nearby. She calmed down enough to address the Moogle with a sad smile.]

Thanks... it's just... I don't know. It feels like we set ourselves such high goals and when we question that goal, we butt heads.

[Bonnie nods and hops down from her perch. She could use her wings to fly, or at least flutter, but instead she does a soft little parkour down to one of the workstations.]

Well, I believe in you all. I think you can do it, kupo. But I know how hard it is. Mary is worried too. Is there anything I can help with, kupo?

Right now? I could really use a hug.

[The moogle is a little surprised at the request, but then smiles. At least it's something she can do.]

Kupo!

[She flutters over and gives Twilight a warm hug around the neck along with a happy little nuzzle.]

[And Twilight returns it, wrapping a foreleg around the Moogle, letting out a soft sigh.]

Thanks, I needed it. Just needed a bit of reassurance - it's rough doing things like this without too much help.

[Bonnie wriggles a bit as she feels the leg come around, fluffing herself up against Twilight.]

I understand, Kupo. Moogles get themselves flustered like this too all the time. But we work together, and when everymog is serious there's a lot we can achieve, kupo.

[Without pulling out of the hug she twists to look at all the books.]

How would you solve this if you were back in your world, kupo?

Maybe... but shouldn't we try anyway?

[Protecting everyone is the Fairy Tail way, after all.]

[Twilight let out a sigh.]

I don't know what to think anymore.

I missed the meeting... think you could sum it up for me? Where are we at with everything?

I think we've decided on modifying the First Crystal using technology from Jade's world. Of course, that also means trying to cram the Calamity into the Crystal, too....

Well, I've heard crazier plans.

[Twilight has no idea how much of an understatement that is.]

To be honest, so have I. But, it's still a little... I don't know. Hopeful?

I mean, I understand being hopeful. I do it, too. But... well... this one's a little too out there.

Maybe. But if it's the best idea we have, we need to give it our best too.

Heh. You're right. I shouldn't be so negative, but... I don't know, it's been a rough year.

If there's one thing I've learned as a member of Fairy Tail, it's that it's never too late to turn a bad situation around. Whenever things look impossible, that's when you have to fight twice as hard.

[It takes Twilight a bit to let that sink in, but she does and chuckles a bit.]

You're right about that. I should be more positive over all of this. I know we can make it out of this...

There you go. That's the Twilight I know.

[Levy smiles, sidling over to look at the books on the table.]

So what do you say we take another crack at the research?

Good idea. Maybe there's something I've missed that another set of eyes can spot!
