a tense atmosphere || Aqures Ixen Hospital
Who: Alice Lidell, Tazendra, Minato Arisato, and ??? (feel free to use this log for your own open/closed threads set in the hospital, if you'd like)
What: Following the Night of the Thirteen Moogles, the hospital staff--those still alive, anyway, are in pretty rough shape. They're distinctly understaffed (they were already understaffed before), working even while traumatized, and the patients are in rough shape too. So Wedge sent a few heroes to help them out, cleaning the place, and reassuring everyone things are going to be okay.
Where: Aqures Ixen Hospital
When: First week of November (Alice Lidell, Tazendra) - all November (Minato Arisato)
Warnings: Mentions of death, descriptions of injury/illness, bloodstains to clean up...? Though, lighthearted threads are probably still possible! In fact, please do, the place could probably use at least a little brightness in it.

is november 4th good? c:
With the arrival of more Heroes presumably on the horizon, it seems as good a time as ever, so it's late in the afternoon when Ven approaches the building for the first time since helping to destroy a good part of it. He's glad to see the lobby's cleared out, no longer trashed or blocked or full of dead bodies, but there's so much else that still needs fixing that he hardly recognizes it as the same place. But he's been here many times, so it's little trouble finding his way to the Heroes' ward regardless. That has to be the least recognizable area so far -- the guards, the locked doors, the uneasy atmosphere...
And anyone passing near this area might quickly notice the break in the usual silence -- specifically, that of Ven's voice as he tries to reason with the guards.]
You don't have to leave the doors open. If I can just get inside real quick, you can lock it behind me, I don't--
It's too dangerous, kid. You hear about what happened?
I was there when it happened. I do know. But they're okay now, so--
Sorry, but we can't be sure. If somethin' happened while you were in there...
If something happens, I'll deal with it. [Ven's voice is staying level and polite, but his impatience is starting to break through. Normally, he would have turned and left at the first dismissal -- but when his friends are involved, well... his emotions tend to get the better of him.] I'm one of the Heroes, too, okay? I'll be fine.
[The lead guard seems to waver at that mention of authority, but he still doesn't give way just yet. All things considered, this is still a kid. If something goes awry...]
yep! O/
Huh, wait, was that a small commotion further in this direction?
Quickly slapping his cheeks twice to help shed off his sleepiness, Minato notices a spiky-haired boy who looks a bit younger than him talking with the guards who were stationed outside the re-crystallized Heroes. He's not sure what this is about, but there is some form of tension, in their voices. ]
Is something the matter?
[ Always felt weird going between some adults' business, but maybe this was necessary backup for either side. ]

Sorry -- I didn't mean to bother anyone. [Hopefully they didn't disturb any of the patients, too...] Nothing's wrong -- I was just hoping to check on the Heroes, since...
And I can promise you, they ain't moved since we brought 'em back.
Then it should be okay if I go in for a minute, right?
[The guard pauses, realizing he did just kind of argue in Ven's favor, didn't he. He huffs, frowning at the polite and hopeful smile Ven's giving him.]
Don't -- don't give me that face! [Maybe this guard is a father with a son of his own somewhere, because his resolve's continuing to waver the longer Ven stays. He looks at Minato.] Talk some sense into him, would ya? I hate lookin' like the bad guy here, but we don't know how dangerous it might still be.

[ He's dutiful enough in his volunteer work sure, but very good at dealing with people he is not, so there aren't promises of success. Still, Minato figured he owed an attempt, what with these guards having to look after who were outright killing machines within the last week--even if no one wanted to admit it. It's not like he agreed with the prison setup, but what else could they do for the time being? ]
Um. [ Minato motions for Ven to come along a bit to the side, far enough from the hearing range of the guards. ] This is pretty important to you, huh?
[ He has a less pronounced uncertainty all over his face just like the guards, but at the same time, if Ven tried convincing him to pull some strings, it's not an impossibility. ]

At the question, Ven nods once with an affirmative hum.]
Yeah. I'm sure they're fine where they are, but... [He glances back towards those doors to the ward, frowning lightly.] It's just... there's someone in there who means a lot to me. Before the attacks, I made sure to visit him every day. I don't know if they can hear us when they're in crystal stasis, but...
[But if they can, it's worth taking time out of each day to remind them that they're not alone. For Sora, especially, it's the very least Ven can do.
He turns back to Minato again, his smile returning.]
It's worth trying, you know? And I really don't think they're a threat right now.

Listen, I think we can do it this once but, you might have to change that habit from being daily.
[ People among the staff are pretty obviously still on edge whenever people want to take a look at them, and he doesn't want them to go through the stress of opening that door more often than they need to.
He turns on his heel to approach the guards again, then slowly stops for a bit mid-way. ]
What was your name, again?
