Santa Cloud is coming to town

Who: Santa Cloud and OPEN
Where: Chocobo Ranch, Santa's Village
When: Throughout December
Summary: Come and Visit Santa and his Chocobos!
Warnings: Rampant Merriness

As November closes and December begins flyers begin to go up in Aqures Ixen and Santa's Village: "Come meet Santa and his amazing flying Chocobos! Let him know what you want for the Starlight Celebration! Children of all ages welcome!"

And so with the usual promises made by Cloud and the usual browbeating by the Old Man, Cloud borrows a few birds from the Ranch and sets to performing regular shows and appearances for the most of the month, alternating as best he can between the two locations. He's careful not to overwork himself or overeat, and the shows are largely the same between the two locations and all appearances.

Small crowds gather, directed to wait outside for the show to begin. Adults and children huddle up, bundled in their coats as they stand in the snow. Before long the sound of jingling bells can be heard, and then a wondrous sight! A sleigh pulled by eight chocobos of varied color and a ninth, a proud gold chocobo at the head. They dash through the air, pulling the sleigh around and putting on a simple but impressive show before pulling in for a landing. Santa Cloud smiles and welcomes the kids to come close and examine the sleigh and the birds as she climbs out, offering them simple toys and candy canes before leading everyone into the hall/barn being used for the rest of the event.

Inside, Cloud takes up the customary position in a big cushy chair, letting the kids and some adults even come up to let him know what it is they're wishing for most. There are also tables set up stocked with stationery for those who don't want to wait or are too shy or simply want to be extra certain. A bespectacled moogle who looks just a tiny bit put out by the jingling green cap he was given collects the letters to Santa, putting them in a box for later review. Who knows, those letters may lead to happy surprises on Starlight's Morning.

(ooc: All are welcome, both coming to visit Santa or helping him out in costume as well. Also feel free to leave any letters to Santa. Cloud will see to as many as he can on Starlight Celebration Eve, both from Hero and Crystallis native alike.)

"I'll let you read it, then. That's part of what Santa likes to do, right?"

Naminé shoots him a smile and riffles through the box of letters for hers before handing it to him. She had decided against writing down any real wish almost from the start. What could she possibly ask for from her original world, after all? All the important things to her were people. Hence the request for Santa Cloud to receive his present from her after he's done with work.

Maybe she should have been more specific and asked Santa Cloud to take a break as her wish. That would've been nice for him too.

"There are candy canes left? I'd love one!"

sure! ;D

Naminé is utterly delighted by the multi-color candy cane, taking a moment to appreciate just how many lines there are on it before tucking it into her elf apron. That will be enjoyed and savored later.

"I'll do my best! Thank you, Santa Cloud!" He's absolutely endearing like this, so kind and bright faced, that Naminé has to hesitate a moment, wondering if it'd be okay to ask him, before finally stepping forward with arms out. It's true that she's a little girl, despite her teenage appearance, and the holiday atmosphere makes it easy to want to indulge herself with things she's never had before.

"Can I have a hug?"

Naminé leans into the hug and gives him a squeeze, smiling against the fluff of the coat. It's the first hug she's ever requested, and it's just as warm and comforting as the ones Sora has given her. Perhaps more so, since Cloud is bigger than her. She feels small like this, but it's a good kind of small-- the kind that feels protected in his presence.

She shoots him an exasperated but fond smile as she pulls away, smoothing down her hair before she accepts the candy cane.

"But I need to help you with cleaning up! I'm not going to let you do it all by yourself."
