The "Temple" of Fire
The same voice that had replaced Cleitus's soon ended any silence, a hint of amusement. Yet it didn't sound as though he was nearby. Rather, the sound came from the communications device(s) that the Heroes held on to.]
You seem vexed. Did dear Cleitus not tell you of who it was he served?
[The sound of metal doors opening before them echoed in the otherwise empty entryway, a little green light pointing down with an arrow. An elevator, perhaps?]
Of course, you're more than welcome to stay there. Though I doubt even that door can hold my minions at bay forever.
Re: The "Temple" of Fire
He looks towards the elevator, and cocks his head towards it. "Seems we don't have a choice." He strides towards it. Tank goes in front, he knows the drill here.
Re: The "Temple" of Fire
But he'd given the PHS that Sephiroth still had in his pocket, without which it's likely they would have died; swallowed forever by the swamp, and that would have been the end of that. Allowed contact eventually with other Heroes, enabled them to come together again and plan...]
You know he couldn't have done. Seems your plan wouldn't have worked, otherwise.
[Bitter much? Yes, but Sephiroth's much better at keeping his tone as flat as possible.
As just like the green light indicating the way for them to go next, this has likely been engineered from the moment Ardyn had known they had been thrown out of their protective torpor in another dimension.
Still, Sephiroth's softer boots follow a short distance and to the right side of Jack as he advances; it's better he's on that side should anything decide to jump out. Trying to focus on the silence intently is difficult though, with the dull ringing still in his ears from the explosion he'd been in too-close proximity too.]
Re: The "Temple" of Fire
Regardless, the SeeD moved her hands toward the pouches at her waist and produced a couple of potions. She moved up just behind the other two and offered the potions to them. "Just in case," she murmured to them as her eyes searched for K'pandolu.
"It looks like I can't use magic at the moment. If it comes down to a magic fight, we're gonna be in trouble..."
This is really starting to remind her of the D-District prison, but Selphie doesn't say that out loud.
Re: The "Temple" of Fire
Is this going to be like having Nero with us?
[She's thinking of the time he overtook linkpearl communications- though it's not as though the man ceased being himself after.
She turns towards Selphie, frowning.]
You can't…? Then…
[She tries, heself- a simple cure, as well, ears flicking up in alarm when it doesn't work. That's- not good, she looks unsettled before squaring her shoulders. It's not the best, but- they'll manage, somehow. They will.]
There was something he activated, wasn't there? Maybe there's a way around it- we should look.
[For now, though, she'll stay back with Selphie, on the alert for anything around them.]

On the contrary, I had expected him to be far more... liberal with his information.
[The elevator doors seem to open of their own accord, and as they do, the group will hear light organ and piano music playing from deep below... or is it simply a speaker hidden in the floor? And should they look down to investigate the noise, they will see a piece of paper.]

I suppose the outcome would have been the same, only a matter of when as opposed to if, then?
[As the elevator doors open, Sephiroth's in second-position behind Jack so although the music does cause a moment for pause, he's hardly the closest to the piece of paper. In fact, he'll probably make sure the rest of the group all stay close as they head into the lift - never leaving the back door open and all.]

Jack pauses to appreciate the music. Everything here is not what he had expected at all. But if you had five years to sit and prepare, Jack? This place would be echoing his own peculiarities, instead of Ardyn's. He stoops to pick up the piece of paper, and reads it quickly. He scoffs before passing it on to the next person. "What benevolence."
"Though maybe we should be grateful he took any interest in the people outside at all. Looks like not all of those Kalki hand-picked bothered to."

Nero tol Scaeva- an engineer, formerly of the Garlean Empire. He'd been aiding us with an exploration of an ancient structure.
[She tilts her head, eyebrows rising as she listens- why play this for them? Does it mean something?
She shakes it off, though, taking the paper.]
… It's better than nothing, I suppose. Though- [she glances up, holding the paper out for Selphie, if she wants to take it.] There was no Guild, on your star?

How kind of him, I guess.
[Selphie looks to the elevator and then to the rest of the group. Which way were they going to go?]
Do you think we should take a look around to see what we can find?
