A. [There have been some strange goings on at Fairy Tail guild HQ lately. Ghostly voices singing into the microphone on stage when there's no one there, wine bottles and glasses from the bar levitating themselves and pouring drinks for patrons that don't exist, chairs flying through the air and across the room when people sit on them... clearly, they have an ethereal visitor. The only problem is, whatever's causing the problem doesn't seem to have any sort of visible form. Worried for the safety of her guildmates, Levy reluctantly dons the Ghostbuster Job and sends out a quick Mognet letter to the Heroes of Light in general.]

I think Fairy Tail HQ is haunted. Calling all members of the guild and anyone else who wants to help. I don't know what's going to happen when we find and corner it, so be ready for anything.

B. [And just when that threat is dealt with, there's another ghost menacing Levy at the library. This one seems much more angry and malevolent, hurling books at her and trying to knock over heavy bookcases and displays on top of her. She isn't sure what she did to deserve this, but Levy's clearly too scared to deal with it on her own.]

H... help! Someone, please!

[Yelling in a library is a taboo of the highest order, but this thing is damaging the books. Rules be damned for the moment - whatever this is, it needs to be stopped! Unfortunately, as she's running through the stacks, Levy's lost her P.K.E. meter. She needs backup!]

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

[No one harasses one of Rukia's friends. She'd been drawn initially from the PKE meter, but once she heard someone screaming for help, she quickened her pace, bursting through the library doors. Why is it after Levy? Who knows, malevolent ghosts seldom need a reason to attack the living. Maybe it's possessive over the collection of books. She needs to get its attention away from her friend, so she cups a hand to her mouth.]

OI!!!

[When the books stop, she knows she has its attention. She smiles wickedly.]

Reading...is lame.

[Now come and get her, fool! That should give Levy enough time to either catch her breath and fight, or flee.]

What!

[Books do indeed come flying at Rukia, but they're being propelled both my invisible force and by Levy this time. She'll come to her senses in a moment, but anger like this is a natural reaction for her when people diss books and reading.]

Eeek!

[What is this?! Why are they throwing the books they claim to love so much?!]

W-what are you doing?! Fool!

[She was hoping the ghost would swoop down and fly over the trap she just set out, but now she's forced to run and dive for cover.]

Wait... what am I?

[Levy stops, looking at the book in her hand for a moment before it rises up and smacks her in the face.]

Ahhhh! Rukia!

[And now she's running toward her. Maybe the ghost will follow!]

[Rukia rubs at her sore face, opening her eyes just in time to see Levy sprinting for her. She starts to aim her particle thrower, just as she hears an ominous creak of wood behind her. Her head turns in time to see that the heavy shelf she's standing in front of is starting to tip. Her eyes go wide.]

Watch out!

[She leaps for Levy, tackling her out of harm's way to send the two skidding across the floor. This library is going to be a huge mess when they're finished, isn't it?]

Whoa!

[Levy hits the ground hard, tumbling away as more books go flying past. This place is going to be a disaster zone by the time the ghost is finally captured. And hey, speaking of the ghost, it's apparently decided to try to knock over one of the stacks on top of them.]

Look out-!

[Rukia isn't very big, but she raises her arm protectively anyway, doing her best to shield the mage from the brunt of the blow. Her body jerks with the impact of each volume that strikes her. She's going to see the bruises tomorrow morning.]

[When the last book finishes toppling, Rukia changes swiftly from defense to offense, dropping onto her elbow and rolling onto her back to blast at the ghost with her particle thrower.]

[Plenty of books come tumbling down, but thankfully the stack itself just collides with the one next to it and hasn't collapsed on top of them completely. Still, though, that many books can be heavy.]

R-Rukia, are you okay?

[Levy digs her way up and out of the mound of books to see her friend going full force against the poltergeist. And now that it's distracted, she can get her equipment charged up too.]

Hey, you! Quiet in the library!

[Firing a second beam to join Rukia's, but being careful not to fire from the same angle, she manages to trap the ghost as it's fleeing from Rukia's attack. Now it's just a matter of deploying the containment unit and getting it in there.]

We got it! Stay on target!

[Rukia's gaze is fierce as she slowly gains her feet, keeping her weapon trained on the ghost. She kicks out the trap with one swift motion of her boot, then stomps on the pedal. The trap doors swing open, sucking the malevolent ghost inside. Snap! The trap is shut, and Rukia turns off her proton pack.]

Got it.

[Thumbs up to Levy!]

Whew...

[Levy falls to her knees as the trap snaps shut, letting out a relieved sigh.]

That was rough...

It's over now. I wonder what drew it here to begin with.

[And the library is completely trashed. She'd offer to help with clean up, but her PKE meter is beeping again.]

Looks like there are more close by. Please excuse me.

[She turns to go, but stops to look at Levy. She doesn't just want to leave her alone after that, but...]

Will you be all right?

I'll be all right. It's my job to clean this place up.

[A task she's already started, sighing as she picks up book after book.]

It's gonna be a long night.

I'll return to help as soon as I am able.

[Which, as Levy will find out, will be several hours later. Look there's a lot of ghosts hanging around out there.]

[Levy's made a dent in it by then, but there's still a lot to do.]

Oh, Rukia. How are things going with the ghosts?
