The reassurance was nice, and Yulia seemed to relax after a moment. The mention of their masters doing stupid things earned a soft laugh, "You sound like you've known them a while... How long were they here last time?"

Luke wasn't surprised by the question, since he'd basically set himself up for it. It didn't help the fact that his mind immediately took him to places he didn't want it to. Just like that, he was back in Eldrant - he was staring his old master in the face, just before moving in for... the kill. They'd each traveled their own paths. They'd made their decisions...and Auldrant's fate was to be determined by whoever's willpower won.

"Someone I...killed," he wasn't entirely sure why it came out that way, and his body tensed as he uttered the last word, "He was someone who wanted to destroy my world... and my friends and I refused to let that happen."

In spite of there being a smile on his lips, it definitely wasn't the happiest one. It was clear he was sad, and the look in his eyes was of...regret. Even now, he wished there had been a way to not have to kill Van, even if it had been something he'd... been so sure he'd accepted. Maybe he just needed a little more time to come to terms. Not to mention, it didn't help that they were in a hell of a situation as it was. He and his friends were trapped on a new world...with a new task for them to accomplish.
