[Perhaps he has misjudged Ib's threat level, so engrossed in seeing how far back his telekinetic wave can push Luffy in particular, the small guy had indeed put his foot forward as the great defender of his friends already and Sephiroth would be careless to dismiss the clear challenge.

As such, the surge of flames sent forth in her Fira spell causes him pause, having to turn away and shield his face with the opposite arm. That said, such magic damage doesn't do as much as expected to him, a few singed fly away hairs and warmed leather as he uses another telekinetic brush of air to dismiss them - not registering Red at all in the background. An irritation enough to curl his nose up at, but it really didn't do that much damage at all.]

How- dare you.

[In the aftermath though, as the flash of flames recedes, Zelda's crystal is no more. The princess-Hero absorbed into the ether of the ritual; or so he knows.

His own dash forwards to meet Luffy in combat follows, but -somewhat surprisingly- the small pirate is already in close. The next second and all the power, hatred and vengeance behind that punch is delivered inside of Sephiroth's stance and does connect powerfully with the center of his chest. The warrior recoils, spreads his stance wider again but does hold his ground for the most part.

The half-step back giving ample room for a swift turn in Luffy's direction as a counter - the pommel of Masamune coming in to knock him over the head. Followed with a slash as he turns the weapon; for sure he'll catch him one way or another unless he can dodge as swiftly as he charged in. Sephiroth too affords more of his own dexterity now that he's been shown what Luffy is capable of.]
