With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

You're standing there on purpose aren't you?

[Yuffie is all for sneaking kisses under mistletoe and it's something she's done a few times at the party so far. Her palms are on her hips as she looks up at him.]

It means you owe me a kiss.

[Only she's been stealing kisses on the cheek so don't do anything weird Yuri.]

[Pyrrha sighs, but smiles all the same at the offer.]

...His name is Jaune Arc. He's a very special person to me. Because of my skills, I'm actually a little famous in my world. When I came to Beacon Academy, there wasn't a single person who didn't recognize me. Except for him. He didn't know who I was, and so he was able to treat me like I was just another student. Just another person.

[Pyrrha blinks curiously, looking inside before hesitantly reaching in and drawing out a piece of candy.]

[She smiles at the pleasant Moogle, lifting the treat to acknowledge her gratitude.]

I'll look forward to those times, then. [And hopefully deter her housemates from descending upon him with their antics. Nodding once, her smile gave way to a look of quiet surprise; even knowing that one of her main reasons for coming tonight was because she had something to give him in turn, there was still a sense of bewilderment when she automatically voiced her question, looking away for just a moment.]

Have you...? [If they were going to be exchanging gifts, now would be the opportune time for her to give it it to him... If she hadn't entrusted Sein with placing it under the centerpiece tree earlier when she hadn't found him right away.]

Thank you, though I have something for you, too. [Inwardly, she was already wondering yet again if it would be sufficient enough for him. There was only one way to tell.]

[It's nice to just play at formality. If there were other officers around, she wouldn't engage in any sort of mischievous banter at all, as she wouldn't want to seem disrespectful. But in this kind of environment, it's nice just to be friends.]

[She watches him pause at his words, and studies him curiously. What's this? Could it be he's just so very moved and touched at her gesture? ...Probably not, but that's what she's starting to assume. Rukia smiles proudly.]

You're welcome. I know it isn't your weapon of choice, but it doesn't hurt to keep a second weapon on your person should you ever be forcefully disarmed.

[She's keeping the book comfortably placed on her knee as well, delighted at the thoughtfulness her friends have demonstrated for her tonight.]

What do you think of the rest of the party? Do you have any plans?

[Rukia's jaw drops.]

You can do that?! It wouldn't be too difficult to recreate the image in such a limited space?

[Rukia's nails are pretty short, and outside of the time they got dolled up for the auction, she hasn't really seen a need to paint or decorate them. But if Chiaki can put Lagomorphs on her nails, Rukia will wear them with absolute pride.]

Ya can always count on Heroes to throw a good party at the drop of a hat. Also, I brought somethin' for everyone.

[He opens his cooler of ice cream and picks one out. It says James Kidd on it. He looks a little unsure, but hands it over anyway.]

[Rukia hadn't picked out a gift for Jade, even though she'd wanted to. He'd been a huge help in dealing with the Reaper, and they worked together as well. If nothing else, he was due at least an obligation present. But she didn't really know what he liked, other than finding her cheesecake adequate, and it might have seemed like a boast if she gave him one of those as a gift.]

[They're too difficult to wrap anyway.]

[So when she spots him at the party, she's relieved, and makes her way toward him. He looks oddly...peaceful. Not just relaxed, but possessing an inner sort of calm. Was it the village itself? Or maybe he'd taken the Santa job as well and been treated to the same kinds of warm, nostalgic feelings that seemed to come with it?]

[Rukia hesitates for a moment, not sure if she should bother him. But...he's here. People don't come to parties expecting not to be bothered.]

Major.

[A formal title, but an informal smile as she approaches, an envelope loosely held in her fingers as she crosses her arms.]

Am I interrupting anything?

I'll probably dance a little bit. I think I'm gonna stay away from the alcohol this time, though.

[She got pretty embarrassingly drunk at the Halloween party.]

It's more complicated than the Space Invaders or Centipedes, but I can try. They'll fit on your big toes at least, probably.

[At the very least, Chiaki is capable of a very steady hand and precise dot work with the toothpick she uses to do her work.]

[Rukia tilts her head a little.]

Would you mind if I observed for a bit? I need to learn a few simple steps for the New Year's ball.

Why don't we dance together instead? There's no better way to learn than by doing, after all.

[Levy flashes a smile and a wink, standing up and extending a hand.]

[She's floored. Bunnies on her nails! This is the most amazing thing ever!]

Do you want me to do your nails in return? I've never made pictures on them before, but I would gladly make the attempt.

[Except the results will be, to put it bluntly, pretty crappy.]

[Well. Levy does have a point, she supposes. It's less embarrassing than trying to coax lessons from a guy in any case. So she hops off of the chair, looking left and right until she finds a small side table where she can put away her book and set down her glass.]

Sure. Even just colors would be fine.

[Levy follows her over there to set down her inks and quills, taking Rukia by the hand and leading her out to the dance floor.]

[She'll miss the Village, but it'll be good to return to her original home, especially now that she knows it's still hers. And always was. Oops.]

[Slow would be more like a courtly dance, right? She's not sure she'll be doing any of that. Of course, it depends on whether or not a certain someone shows up, and if that someone decides to ask her to dance. Rukia isn't going to bet on it happening, though. Still, he's surprised her in the past.]

Oh! [The moogle's approach had been a surprise on its won, even though Tear wouldn't have had any objections to it, but to receive a gift as well...?

Needless to say, she's a little confused about it even with the appreciative smile on her face.] You'll have to forgive me, I'm afraid I don't know what I did to deserve this.

[Johnny's fairly surprised from this act from a moogle. Mostly because he and his moogle helper don't get along at all and barely bother with one another. He takes the candycane with a small smile.]

Oh, uh, thanks. Y'know, just doing what I gotta do. It's nothin'.

Zelda laughed as they moved across the floor. It was easy to forget the horrors and worries they were sure to face as they danced.

"It is."

Bright aquamarine eyes shine up at him.

"I'm honestly just happy that everyone is enjoying themselves."

[Zelda nods with a smile.]

[She hadn't been expecting so many presents but then there are a lot more heroes here this year.]
