With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

[Graham has decided to attend the party, and seems to be enjoying himself. Zelda may have noticed that he'd been faithfully wearing the scarf she sent along to him as a gift since he got it. He's not accustomed to getting gifts, so he greatly appreciated it. Even if he didn't send along a thank you note, despite all of Kuprono's insisting.]

I am! I never thought I'd be moved by all this holiday cheer, but it's so pervasive that maybe there was just no way to avoid it. And what else do we have to look forward to in these bleak, cold winter months? I've been captured and held hostage by all the celebrating. My heart has been warmed and melted!

[Zelda takes note in the scarf and her smile widens slightly. Her lips curling up at the edges as she looks at him.]

I'm happy to hear that Graham.

[There is a slight pause as Zelda steps up to him, her hand gesturing out towards the center of the floor.]

Would you like to dance?

[Graham looks momentarily surprised. He's never done much actual dancing in his life. Other than the kind he does in place some times when he's talking.

He thinks it over before nodding with conviction.]

I can try! I must admit to be completely ignorant of dance styles in Aqures Ixen, though. Or most in general. I don't even think I know how to do the Charleston properly? [What juvenile delinquent does? He shrugs. He says all this while leading her to the dance floor, though.]

[Zelda laughs and then waits for the next song to start. This one is a slower Christmas song and so with a nod of her head she takes his hand while positioning his free hand around her waist. Once everything is in place she lightly rests her hand on his shoulder.]

You start with your left foot forward. Then we move right, then back and the left and you alternate which foot moves.

[It's a very quick explanation. Either way Zelda will follow his lead and move accordingly.]

[As with all things, Graham takes this very seriously. While not a dancer in any respect, he is at least agile, and can keep up with Zelda and not step on her feet.

It doesn't mean he keeps his mouth shut, though. Somehow, he can concentrate on both.]

Right! I see... okay... This is easier than I expected! Everyone makes such a big deal about dancing that I thought it would be a lot more difficult. And uninteresting.

[Well, it does make a difference when you have a partner.]

[Zelda laughs allowing him to lead and then following gracefully behind. Even before coming to this world she’s enjoyed dancing though it was usually alone and in private. She’d move her feet to the sounds of her glittering harp, when she was a young girl her mother would play for her and she’d waltz around as if she had a partner guiding her.

Being guided is much different than that. Each change of motion sent a wave of blond trailing out behind her. Her lips curl into a smile as they step the song keeping their tempo. When you dance it’s easy to forget your troubles or anything that might be weighing on your heart. Zelda laughs as they move and listens happily to Graham’s comments.]

I’m glad you like it.

[He isn’t a bad dancer.]

[He picks up speed as he goes along, even outpacing the tempo of the song a bit. He also continues to just. Keep. Talking. About nothing, really, just dancing and how it could be a metaphor for mankind always being in motion, and also how maybe dance marathons weren't the worst idea after all. Typical Graham nonsense.

When the song ends, he simply stops, still holding onto Zelda, and looks confused. He doesn't seem to know what he should do now that a different sort of song was playing.]

[Zelda loves listening to Graham and she doesn't say anything to interrupt. There are a few moments where she nods her head or laughs along to his nonsense. Graham is unlike anyone she's met before.

As the song ends there is a smile on her lips. When Graham doesn't pull away her head tilts, golden strands of hair spilling over her shoulder.]

Would you like to dance again?

I'm even less sure on how to dance to faster songs! You really don't mind potentially embarrassing yourself with someone who is totally ignorant in the complexities of dancing?!

[Says the guy who was getting faster and faster during that slow song.]

[Zelda shakes her head with a warm smile spreading wide across her lips.]

It's never an embarrassment and I wouldn't have offered unless I wanted too.

[Even if they fall they are just having fun.]

[Graham stands up tall and straight, looking proud and determined.]

Then! Then, if you can stick by that claim, I shall try! For if you're willing to embarrass yourself with me, I'll willing to the same in front of you and everyone else! At worst, they'll laugh at me. And what do I care about being a social pariah when I'm not even a member of this society? Let them do their worst - I can teach them a lesson. Later.

[If he was holding his wrench right now, be sure he'd be twirling it in a very obvious fashion right now. Instead, he'll give this dancing thing another go.]

[Zelda laughs as they move back onto the dance floor. The song is faster than before and those moving along seem to be keeping the beat well.]

Ready?

[She still ready to follow Graham's lead, wherever that might take them.]
