With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

[Her expression said it all, and he smiled gently.] Its okay, just a thought really. I'm guessing you miss someone huh?

[pole_position]

...It's that obvious?

[Her shoulders slump.]

Just a little. Don't worry, I'm married to the Princess of Love; its kind of easy to figure out when someone is wishing someone else is there.

Can you tell me about them? Maybe it'll help.

[pole_position]

[Pyrrha sighs, but smiles all the same at the offer.]

...His name is Jaune Arc. He's a very special person to me. Because of my skills, I'm actually a little famous in my world. When I came to Beacon Academy, there wasn't a single person who didn't recognize me. Except for him. He didn't know who I was, and so he was able to treat me like I was just another student. Just another person.

[shining_derp]

I see. That is quite the person then. I know the pressures of being famous as well, and to have that sort of friend who treats you as a normal person must be a really close friend and companion for you.

[pole_position]

Yes, he certainly is something.

[Pyrrha laughs a little.]

He's not very good at fighting, and his confidence needs work, but he's always kind and sincere and always does his best for his friends.

[Her smile fades a bit, though, as she looks out to the dance floor.]

The last dance I was at... it was with him. And I'm not exactly sure of where we stand now.

[Shining tapped his chin thoughtfully, gauging her response before slowly replying.] It sounds like, while you are not certain if you love him yet, there are strong feelings.

Feelings of protection, adoration, and probably at the very least some need to keep him safe, and hope he grows into a strong man.

Sounds like me, when I was in my foalhood years actually. I was... not the most popular pony in Canterlot High. Far from it. And yet I adored Cadance, and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. It took some courage to finally realize that part of myself that could take a step forward.

And it took a lot of courage for her, the smart, popular girl, to take a step in my direction. So I think in a way, your friend may very well become the person you rely on for all of your life.

[pole_position]

[Pyrrha shakes her head.]

No, that's actually not the problem at all. You see, up until the day of the dance, he was interested in someone else. I don't think he noticed my feelings at all. But then...

[She sighs, shaking her head again.]

It's complicated. And things have been too busy since then for us to really sit down and talk about it. And now I'm here.

[shining_derp]

Ah I see. That is a bit of a issue. And now that we are here, it's unlikely we can go back any time soon. And who knows what kind of situations will present itself in this place that might make sorting our troubles and worries out a problem.

I'm sorry, I'm not really good at this.

[pole_position]

No, it's all right. I know you meant well.

[shining_derp]

Thanks. If Cadance were here, she'd sort this all out in a heartbeat... [He rubbed the back of his head with a hoof sheepishly.]

[pole_position]

She sounds wonderful. You must miss her too.

[shining_derp]

I do. But I know she'll take good care of herself. She's always been strong.

[pole_position]

What sorts of duties does she have as the Princess of Love?

[shining_derp]

Well, she can do some matchmaking and helping others get over their anxieties to become special somepony with another. She CAN make people fall in love but that's only reserved for those who can actually get along with one another.

Other than that, her position is similar to mine in that it's a ruler-slash-administrator position, as we run a kingdom together.

[pole_position]

Such power... she must feel a great sense of responsibility, to have control over something like that. I can't even imagine it.

[shining_derp]

Yeah, Cadance is pretty good at handling things like that. I'm glad.

[pole_position]

I hope you're able to return to her soon.

[shining_derp]

I hope so too.
