With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

A plant that gives people an excuse to exchange a kiss. People do tend to grow more lonely during the winter months~

[She's enjoying this way too much. How often does she get to be the one teasing Yuri, instead of the other way around? This is excellent! ...And for the record, unless someone spiked the eggnog very lightly, she hasn't had a drop of alcohol to drink.]

Maybe that's why you agreed to the auction two months ago. You were hoping a certain someone would bid on you, so it wouldn't look like you were actually incredibly lovestruck~

[Rukia is only half-teasing. She might actually be right about this! So she turns to look out at those gathered in the party. If she's right, then the love interest is here tonight!]

[ He honestly, can't see anything too interesting about sharing a peck or two under a foreign plant. Someone better make him believe the magic, or he's going to just pluck it and walk away like the asshole he is. Maybe it was a good idea that Rukia didn't get drunk. She's kind of already a handful for him without her under the influence. He can't possibly imagine her being under the influence. ]

Nice try, but no. Someone's pet moogle decided that I needed a date, and that date turned out to be Misses Trickster Ninja.

[Rukia's not going to teach him the magic of kissing. She's only kissed one other person, and it was awkward and impersonal. Honestly, if that's what it's like, then she really can't understand what all the fuss is about.]

[Oh ho ho, but this is a rare occasion. It isn't often that she's got the trolling upper hand! Her teasing grin only grows wider as she draws near...not to stand under the mistletoe, but close enough that she can give him a few playful thumps on the arm with the back of her hand.]

There's no one yet. Isn't that what you mean to say?

[Grin grin.]

Maybe this is how you find your match. Kiss each girl that walks past until you find the one that sparks the magic of true romance.

[Seriously, she's so tickled right now. Giving each other a hard time should be a holiday tradition.]

[ Yuri couldn't have agreed more but he liked playing with his friends, so things could get a little messed up in the process. It's by no means anyone's fault but his own for making t hings awkward if he were to cause it. However, that's just a little too much for him as he looked around still.

Rukia's questions were getting a tad bit ridiculous in his opinion and he didn't really feel like answering. ]

Not at all. You're sure nosy today, Shorty. What's up?

[ His brow is raising at her though his response lacked any sort of reaction. ]

I'd probably get hit if I tried that. I'm passing on kissing any folks in general.

[ Of course, Repede's enjoying the scene from afar, though watching his owner seem chill about the whole thing makes him feel a little mischievous. ]

Curiosity over the mysteries of the living.

[What a fat lie, she just likes trolling him. She sure is smiling a lot, looking pleased with herself.]

You claim that you have no desire to kiss anyone, and yet you make it a point to stand directly under the mistletoe. Maybe you're waiting for others to kiss you.

[She swivels to the side, getting more and more into the teasing mood.]

'Harumph, I'm a lone wolf, I don't need this love you simpletons speak of.'

[Then she swivels completely to the other side, her eyes wide and sparkly-moist.]

'Yuri-sama, your brooding ways are so attractive! How can I resist you?'

[And back to her Yuri impersonation.]

'You can't. I must be forever alone.'

'Your rejection only makes me crave your affections more than ever!'

Riiight.

[ No he's not going to buy that. He's going to raise a brow at the girl. Of course, Yuri wasn't aware that his favourite pet might be plotting something to annoy him, but whatever. It's not like he's going to be embarrassed about silly things like that. He simply didn't have an interest and no matter how much Rukia was teasing him, it felt all ridiculous and pointless in his opinion. People could pursue their romances but he'd rather be left out of them if possible. ]

I find it rather amusing that people would share affections under a plant.

[ He shrugged again. Seriously, Rukia, you're just trying to ruffle his feathers and he's totally not letting that happen! ]

... Man you sure have a huge imaginatio-- whoa!

[ Yuri just got hind kick right into Rukia a la Repede. You two need a room, he thinks. ]

[Rukia smirks, feeling accomplished. He acts like he doesn't care, but she's pretty sure she's finally succeeded at giving him the needling he's had coming for a long, long time. It's definitely mysterious that he'd be waiting under mistletoe while vehemently declaring how much he doesn't care.]

[She turns to address him smugly, only to find that the swordsman is now hurtling straight for her. Thankfully the wall stops them from falling over on top of each other because there's a limit to these cliches, and she grips the front of his shirt in a flustered attempt to catch him. Then his mouth crashes against the left side of hers, and her eyes shoot wide open.]

[What.]

[The.]

[Hell.]

[It's an accident. His expression told her that much, when she saw him first stumble into her. But even so, this... Just... Why?!?! She plants her hand directly against his face and pushes him back, steadfastly avoiding eye contact. That didn't happen. Neither of them meant it to happen, so it didn't happen.]

You...

[What are words even? Argh!]

I...left my eggnog in the other room.

[She needs to go get that. And maybe just. Go home. On accident.]

[ He wasn't necessarily waiting. It was more like he happened to pass it and he wanted to see what sort of magic trick it would do, but unfortunately, that didn't look or seem like the case to him. He just gave a blank stare at the non reacting plant and then Rukia took it the wrong way. That's definitely not his day today. He's more or less giving up on telling her otherwise and let the girl swim in her delusions if only for a moment.

When Repede knocked him forward with full force, the man fell forward with a surprised look on his face, watching has his mouth connected with the left side of Rukia's by accident. HE immediately shot back as soon as they connected. He's probably expecting to get punched in the face, but apparently, that didn't happen either. He was forced back as he forced himself back.

Rukia's face was red and Yuri had a blank, almost embarrassed look on his face. Oh god damn it. Which idiot did he get to punch this time? ]

...? H-Hey hold it!

[ When she tried to leave, he reached out to grab her shoulder. What she was saying made no sense. She was at a loss of words as he was. ]

[Well, in a sense, the plant magically worked after all. Yuri got kissed...sort of.]

[Rukia blinks, rocked back when she finds her shuffling steps suddenly coming to a halt. She definitely wasn't expecting he'd move after her. They were both supposed to separate, put it out of their minds, and then never speak of it again.]

[She looks up at him, still dazed, hand half-raised to her mouth.]

W...what?

[What's there to talk about? It's an accident, they both know that. So it isn't as if either of them have something to apologize about.]

[dammit_flynn]

[ THAT WAS NOT WHAT HE WAS AIMING AT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! He doesn't even know how to talk about this really. It kind of took place in a weird way that he couldn't really explain it if he tried. Then again apologizing would also be weird. ]

...Jeez, your face is red as the decorations.

[ No Yuri that's now how you handle a sensitive situation. ]

Look about that...

[ Well, he's trailing off some. ]

[She'll pick up after that trail. Besides, she's not the only one bearing more crimson than necessary, is she? She holds her fist against her mouth as if she wanted to clear her throat.]

I know that, fool. Of course it wasn't your intention.

[Rukia pulls back and turns away, planting her fists on her hips.]

As far as I'm concerned it never happened. Is that what you want as well?

Yeah it was. I didn't mean to startle you.

[ He replied giving he an awkward look before turning around the other way. ]

Anyway, I guess you're thinking the same thing I am. Nothing happened and we won't talk about it.

[ He replied putting his hands on his hips too as he looked back. ]

Anyway, have a safe trip back, alright?

[It might have been fun to exchange a couple of quips, because she knows he's embarrassed. But she is too. In this case, it's a truce, pure and simple. They've set the terms, so all that's left to do is wait to forget about it. It'll happen. Eventually.]

[She gives a faint wave over her shoulder before setting off. It didn't happen. Yes, she'll stick with that.]
