They'd walked arm in arm before, but it already seemed a lifetime ago since their time at Flence; so much had happened since. Never mind that, in this instance, it seemed to feel as if they were tucked closer than they had been then. Sephiroth supposed that was probably down to events over the last week, or maybe down to how chilly it was away from the crowd; or perhaps he was just noticing things, regarding Terra, in a little more definition than before.
He wouldn't have pulled his arm from her but it did make it easier that she dropped it, for him to insert the card to the small reader on the wall next to the closed door, and key in the first two-digits of the passcode before fully catching up with the fact that Terra were trying to get his attention for something important. Sephiroth blinked his attention completely back in her direction and even turned minutely more to face her. They weren't in a rush, at all, he could always re-entry the code if it timed out.
'I like you..' He didn't need to hear the second part to have an instant feeling come over him, like someone were squeezing tightly at his insides. It was a little like pride in that it was warm, and he thought it was a nice feeling at first; but it also felt prickly, uncomfortable. Sephiroth tilted his head a little towards Terra and allowed a smile to creep up either side of his mouth. Naturally his thoughts pinged back to that Starlight celebration where he'd been altogether too-much...
Or had he? He remembered how his own heart had raced when he made that decision. To kiss her; even if it was the festive thing to do.
"Well," He stopped to clear his throat, averting his gaze a little so it didn't look like he was expectantly staring at her in any way; that'd be rude and he wasn't a lovesick puppy like that. "That's just as well, because-"
Friend just didn't seem to cut it, with Terra, either. It wasn't friendship like he remembered it being with Genesis and Angeal. No, he was starting to dare to imagine that it might indeed be something more than just a normal affinity; the fact that he knew he cared a lot about her told him that much. It was foreign enough to be both scary and exciting at the same time; yet he still was quite unsure how much of it came from his sense of duty, of the promise to protect her. It didn't quite explain the hole that often filled itself with the urgency to get back to her side soon, whenever he was away for a time.
"-I think that I like you, more, too." How incredibly adolescent he felt, saying that. His eyebrows flick a little closer for an instant, and Sephiroth briefly looked away back to the keypad to try and find better words before returning to look over the small green-haired girl stood before him. "I mean I- your company is....important...to me."
Confessing? Yes, no....almost? /facepalm
