[Of all of the presents some of the Heroes had obtained for him over the Starlight period, it's plain that the last thing he might have expected would be earrings. Zelda had gotten him a necklace last year but- well, the amount of time he'd worn that just proved the fact that he wasn't one for jewelry.
Besides...didn't girls wear pairs like these? Even if he had his ears pierced, he probably wouldn't have worn anything more than simple studs.
K'pandolu is right about one thing though, the color isn't too far from how his eyes used to look, before the side-effect had mostly worn off.]
