Intro Log || This Keeps Happening

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of January. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: Snow. Also some leftover decorations from Christmas.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Sounds terrible? Welcome to Crystallis.

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With Christmas being barely over, there are still Christmas Decoration in the streets, and while the reconstruction are nearly over, there are still traces of the attack the Empire led against the city six months ago. A few buildings are being worked on.

And besides the decorations and reconstructions, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. A few groups of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and a Blitzball Match is set to start at 20:00 in the stadium! Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with Moogles, most of them discussing about the election for the future director of Mognet. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

The Laboratory
— Anytime —
A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...

Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).

At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

The Hospital
— Anytime —
Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.

A couple Moogles and a few nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. Upon exiting the room, they will also meet a lot of guards, and they all have for order to shoot anyone that comes out of this room without a Moogle. Hopefully you won't try running out without waiting for your Moogle. As for why the guards are so on edge, it might be a good idea to ask the other Heroes of Light about what happened a couple months ago.

Close Encounters of the Third(?) Kind
— 15:00 —
Characters venturing by between the city's outskirts and the Chocobo Farm at this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a Chocobo before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. If your character do see it, hopefully there will be someone with them. Otherwise, nobody will believe their story.

Was it an UFO or just a hallucination? Previous sightings of such a thing have happened. It might be a good idea to investigate this sometimes...

"Like a guard. Right."

Close enough.

Some of the things he says sounds just as strange to her as the word 'FBI' does to him, but she's already overloading herself with enough information today that she feels exhausted just listening to it all.

When he mentions his moogle, Aya's brows lift. "Really? Mine seems to be more taken with leaving me alone. Can't say I helped make a great first impression for her, though."

It's all a little too much to take in within a few minutes. The moogle, who introduces herself as Iva, proves to be a bit too soft-spoken that they'll no doubt need more time together. Aya can't tell whether she did something wrong and the creature is afraid of her, or if Iva was always this way.

Either way, by the time Aya returns to Rialynn and her moogle, she's more or less caught the gist of things.

She shrugs. "Well, I suppose." Iva remains hidden behind the back of Aya's leg, as if in hiding, and she's reminded somewhat of her ~~clone~~ sister.

Aya then pauses and glances between Rialynn and little Kuponia.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to interrupt your conversation."

"Damn."

Sure, he's blunt about it, but Aya appreciates the bluntness. Her shoulders sag at the news, but she isn't entirely deterred. Not until she knows who her actual housemates turn out to be.

Aya makes a face at Iva in the bushes before turning her attention back up at the taller man. "I think I might've scared her when we first met or something. I guess I wasn't exactly very nice to her."

Being ignored would make anyone either pissed or brittle.

"See? Versatility is just as important, too. Without the people who make great weapons, people like me wouldn't be able to use them."

Granted, that's not entirely true in her case. But considering her style of clothes and the type of work she seems to be equipped with right now, it looks like she's going to have to rely on guns more than her mitochondria.

"As in the kind of monsters that aren't human. Or, well, some of them used to be human... but not anymore." She will never understand the motivation of those who decided that they would rather mutate into twisted, barely functioning creatures barely capable of thought than to remain as they were. Nothing was worst than losing your self.

"It's fine! We were just passing time. You were supposed to interrupt anyway, right?" She gave Iva a little wave, but tried not to pay too much attention to her otherwise. Rialynn knew what it was like to feel shy and insecure around...certain people.

Then she realized that she didn't really have any plans on what she was going to talk about with Aya. She'd just sort of rushed up to her because Kuponia said she was a hero.

"...So..."

Glancing between the two, and sensing Rialynn's awkwardness, Kuponia piped up. "Would the both of you like to visit the airship dock? It seems to be a very popular place for new arrivals."

Rialynn paused, her lips pursed into a small 'o.' "...Did you say 'airship?' As in, a ship? That's in the air?"

"That's correct!" Kuponia beamed, clapping her paws together. "Have you ever seen one?" Rialynn vehemently shook her head. "What about you, Miss Aya? Would you like to see the airships?"

Jack's brows furrowed for a moment. What hell year was she from that the FBI was even still active?

"Shit, you're a long way from home."

There were gonna be some weird extranet searches when she got home. The Alliance bigwigs were in Vancouver, but fuck if she knew where that even was on Earth.

Duster's world has psychic powers instead of straight-up magic, though that could explain the other weird stuff that goes on there.

"A lot, huh. And it's alright?" Computers were brought in by invaders from another time, and they didn't exactly do a lot of nice things with them.

"I was a musician for the most popular band in the islands," he says nonchalantly. Between his tone and appearance, he might have been lying, though his unchanging gloomy expression shows no sign of it. "But recently, I spent a lot of time trying to save the world."

Duster can't help but be a little happy for her. Tazendra managed to keep her world safe, while he and his friends couldn't say the same. However, in this case, he could use a partner that knew how to properly save the world.

"It sounds like your world is doing real great." And she was very brave. "How did you manage to do that?"

Clearly, someone didn't ask. Duster had no idea what Cid was really like, but he had to see him eventually and make sure that question was brought up.

"The lab...right. Where is it?"

Tamekichi tugged on Duster's baggy red pants. "Hey, I'm your local guide, remember? Just ask me and I'll tell you, kupo."

Duster leaned over and nodded. The Moogles were cute, but this one was pretty rude. It was just as unsettling as if he had found a Mr. Saturn that criticized everyone that talked to it.

"I'll ask him about it. Thanks." There was a lot he had to do. "I'm Duster, by the way."

"No, I mean like, the employment kind. The kind that gives ya money. I mean, no one's gonna make you, but..." He shrugs indifferently. People are free to be bums if they wanted. It was a free country. "I'm gone on work a lot, so you'll probably have the house to yerself a lot."

"Go for it. Kinda snowy out there though. And there's monsters if ya go too far. So, uh. Rent a chocobo 'n wear yer armor, I guess."

"There used to be a queen, from what I heard, but she's gone into hiding." He waved a hand to the side. "Now, it's just bureaucrats and, you know, the people that are supposed to answer our questions.

Not that he trusted any of them save for Dr. Cid.

"However, I doubt you'll get a straight answer. They're just as confused as to why you're here as I am."

Terra shook her head quickly.

"I don't want to forget." Then her lips curled into a warm, though shy smile. "You aren't the same but I got to meet you. That's just as important." Or at least she thought so.

"So I won't forget."

Ah, thank you.

[Terra really needs to practice talking to others.]

Is there anything I can help you with?

[She shifts the flowers in her arms awkwardly trying to think of something better to say. Perhaps if Rialynn likes flowers?]

I suppose that's true of all worlds then.

[It's hard for Zelda to remember everything happening on Hyrule. She'd be in crystal right now and Link would be fighting Demise.]

You don't have to help however I will request that you do. When you are ready.

[No pressure.]

We all want to find our way home.

"What sort of 'stuff'? Do you mean our mission to save this world, or some other pursuit?" He was not sure what kind of person Zack was yet. Heroic endeavors might appeal to him, but they could just as likely be something he'd flee.

"What did you have when you started out?" asked Zack curiously.

"Like establishing myself. If you have to be known, it'd be best for the good things, right?" said Zack. "Saving the world is one thing. Making sure people enjoy the world you saved is another, right?"

"I wound up here as a black mage, so I couldn't use a gun anymore. I was in the military back home. We have magic in my world but you need these stones called materia to use it. Here....I could just conjure lightning."

"I'm The Great Ninja Yuffie!"

She smiled bright with her palms lightly resting on her hips. Yeah she's awesome and everyone should know it.

"Nice ta meet cha."

"Agreed. Something has to be done about this. For all we know they may start taking people next."

"Huh. Yeah, most people can't conjure lightning like that, unless you're some kind of wizard. In fact I think there's a wizard back home..." said Zack, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"Hopefully I can punch it next time," said Erika, smacking her fist into her hand.

Yuna smiled brightly before digging into one of her pockets for a hard candy. "Here take this." She dropped the little piece into Rialynn's hand.

"I would cheer like that too, when I'm not playing." And she didn't like having her voice feel sore afterwards. "If you follow me I can show you around the stadium."

It's a pretty cool tour, besides the stands Yuna can get them into the locker rooms too and where ever Rialynn might want to see.

Duster could tell that was impressive, but he did have one question.

"What's a ninja?"

Despite the fact that Thief Training involved lost of acrobatics and use of tools, Wess never referred to him as a ninja. That was not part of their vocabulary.

"I'd prefer not to stay inside all day." If there's one thing he'd prefer not to be referred to, it's bum-like. That, and having limited contact with most of society was kind of dull. "I...think I'll find something. Eventually."

He's a Bard, after all. He could always start up a new band.

"I don't mind. The snow will take some getting used to, but I know how to defend myself. My limp never stopped me." The latter bit of information was unnecessary, but Duster makes it a habit to point that out before someone else does. He's a capable man who knows what he's doing. Unless he isn't. Which is some of the time.
