Intro Log || This Keeps Happening

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of January. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: Snow. Also some leftover decorations from Christmas.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:


"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Sounds terrible? Welcome to Crystallis.


The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.


The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With Christmas being barely over, there are still Christmas Decoration in the streets, and while the reconstruction are nearly over, there are still traces of the attack the Empire led against the city six months ago. A few buildings are being worked on.

And besides the decorations and reconstructions, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. A few groups of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and a Blitzball Match is set to start at 20:00 in the stadium! Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with Moogles, most of them discussing about the election for the future director of Mognet. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.


The Laboratory
— Anytime —
A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...

Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).

At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

The Hospital
— Anytime —
Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.

A couple Moogles and a few nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. Upon exiting the room, they will also meet a lot of guards, and they all have for order to shoot anyone that comes out of this room without a Moogle. Hopefully you won't try running out without waiting for your Moogle. As for why the guards are so on edge, it might be a good idea to ask the other Heroes of Light about what happened a couple months ago.


Close Encounters of the Third(?) Kind
— 15:00 —
Characters venturing by between the city's outskirts and the Chocobo Farm at this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a Chocobo before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. If your character do see it, hopefully there will be someone with them. Otherwise, nobody will believe their story.

Was it an UFO or just a hallucination? Previous sightings of such a thing have happened. It might be a good idea to investigate this sometimes...

"That's... equally as unfortunate. Not that you left them, I mean."

It seems that Aya is faced with another conundrum -- even if they get this problem fixed, not everyone here might be as eager to get home.

She folds her arms and sighs. "That's my plan. I hear that time doesn't work the same way here as it does back home, so I'm hoping I won't return to a lot of lost time."

"Yeah, I noticed." Aya threw her arms up into an exaggerated shrug. "I've had to have been wandering around for a half hour now."

It was getting really tiresome. Really.

She then waved a dismissive hand. "Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, though. I appreciate it."

[chondriosome]

Aya turned her head, hiding her flushed expression. "They're not magical."

Despite having elemental powers and MP.

"Thank you. I'll keep that in mind."

[chondriosome]

"Fair point. I guess I shouldn't complain about the size of my wallet, since I'm technically unemployed."

She blinked.

"I'm... unemployed," she realized out loud, a look of horror flickering across her visage.

Iva gave her a little tug at the hem of her pants. "Um, kupo. You can... you can always check the job boards... for work. I'm sure there's, um..." The moogle made a timid little sound.

She just nodded, catching the creature's drift enough that she didn't have to have a mental breakdown right then and there. Not yet, anyway.

Sighing, she looked to Rialynn, only just noticing that she'd said something. "I'm pretty sure this ship uses an engine of some kind, just like cars do in my world." She paused. "Do they have engines where you're from?"

Hmm? Yes, I did. My friend Ruby is here as well. Is there someone from your world you're looking for?

Tazendra grinned; clearly taking this as flattery. "I am a baroness. That is quite enough for me. But you are kind to think so."

[mindofathief]

Just like Princess Kumatora, Tazendra was proud of her achievements. This was certainly a common trait among nobility.

"It's nothing. And this is my first time meeting a baroness. All we had on the Norwhere Islands was a princess."

A few people. I wasn't sure if there was a chance they'd be brought here too. Even if they are pretty heroic. But if your friend's here, that means it's possible. I'm glad.

His smile lost a bit of its sincerity. He tried to sound even more chipper to make up for it. "Yeah, I was pretty famous. I'm a Blitzball player, and if you're a Blitzball player in Zanarkand and you're good at it, pretty much everyone knows you just by glancing at you."

"Huh. So you're from the mountains. You didn't strike me as the city type, so I can't say I'm surprised. Moving to the city must have been a big change. But what kind of army does your world need?" The only thing that came to mind for him was the Crusaders. It would explain why Cloud was such a good fighter.

Cloud's eyes widened a bit as he learned he was in the presence of a Blitzball hotshot. He'd been following the game a bit here, and cheering on Yuna and a few of the other Heroes turned players, just as he promised he would. It didn't seem quite like his kind of sport to play in himself.

But when Tidus asked about the army he got a little shifty eyed and looked a little uncomfortable. "Well...there wasn't really a threat. There was a war against Wutai but...It was basically an army belonging to ShinRa. The company that built all the Mako reactors we use."

I haven't been here that long myself, but I may know their names. Who is it you're trying to find?

They're names are Yuna, Auron, Rikku, Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri. Yuna's a summoner. She's about this tall--[He gestures.] and she has one blue eye and one green eye. And she usually speaks more formally and politely and stuff.

Auron's one of the other guardians and he carries around a big sword and jug of alcohol, but it's okay because he doesn't drink from it much, he wears sunglasses, and he's tends to be pretty grumpy and gives really vague answers so if you've met someone who's unnecessarily mysterious, that's probably him. Rikku's got blonde hair and she's really short and full of energy but she's really grenade happy so if any walls have exploded lately that was probably her.

I don't know about the others, but there's a Yuna that looks exactly like that on the blitzball team. I haven't had the chance to speak with her much, but the eyes are hard to miss.

An index finger raises near the corner of her lips, as if yes – explosive entries sounds like a mighty good idea, “Hmm, maybe!”

At the suggestion of a race, Rikku gives a victory fist pump as if already expecting to come in first. Bouncing a bit from one foot to the other at the built of energy the prospect of leaving Tidus in the dust causes, “You becha!” She leans forwards, a smirk quickening on her lips as gloved hands clap together. Her voice takes on a playful inflection, “Loser shines the winner’s boots!”

A major strength of her job class is speed – she doubted the new arrival knew this given the suggestion, and was cockily looking forwards to impressing her friend and shiny shoes.

Mogtide earns a friendly wave and a “Hiya!” before the Al Bhed’s attention returns to the Blitzer. Only then Tidus receives an annoyed look the girl normally reserved for Wakka. The least he could do is notice she’s grown! ...Granted, the springy thief still has a very, very long way to go before catching up with Lulu. “Over a year now.”

No way! Yuna plays Blitzball?! Since when?

[He stands there blinking a few seconds before turning to Mogtide.]

Let's go to the stadium. Right now.

But I don't think there's a game going on, kupo!

Oh, uh... [He frowns and looks back at Pyrrha. He's practically twitching in place, ready to start running at any second.] Do you know where Yuna might be?

Sparks grumbles. "Yeah, that's her. Cid'll do it for ya, he'll just ask a favor in return. And uh, sometimes they mess up and bring ya the wrong thing. So. Head's up."

He didn't want to get into any more detail than that.

I'm sorry, I don't know where she goes when there isn't practice. You could try looking for her house in the residential district.

"Wrong thing..." His mind drifts off into the realm of possibilities. There's a lot that could refer to. His suit. His wig. Rope Snake. Food. "That doesn't sound too bad," he says with a shrug.

[dammit_flynn]

"Perhaps, but it might not be the best way to get his cooperation."

Seeing, Acrisius dealt with a more moderate version of the green haired guy. At least, Yuri didn't run away from him, so he felt some hope in the matter. Of course, different Heroes and different moogles acted differently. He said his two cents as he watched Yuri go after the other man.

It took him a while to catch up but Yuri had great endurance and eventually caught up to the green haired man. He rounded a corner to meet face to face with him and the other talking to him about chasing him down.

"Yeah well, maybe if you didn't look like a criminal running away, I wouldn't have to."

He replied dismissively waving his hand for a moment, "Nice try, but I'm not particularly interested in you."

He replied bluntly.

Glad that they were in agreement, the melodist continued to lead him down the road to the house.

"Is there anything else you think you might need on the way? It's been snowing a lot lately, and if there are particular foods you want to keep on hand you can buy them now."

"Some hot chocolate for the weather would be nice," said Zack. "Is there a market near by?"

Hands buried deep into pockets to fight the cold, and to feel the firearm on her side. With Rufus present, her awareness of those around her had shifted from casual curiosity to full-blown protective mode.

It was going to be a hell of a lot easier keeping an eye on him this time around, seeing that she had Reno at her disposal. Not that he'd been that much of a handful last time around. There hadn't any buildings tall enough for him to make a dramatic leap from.

At his question, she gave a little shake of the head. "No. When I left, you had been free of the illness for at least two months."

Not that it meant that he was entirely healthy enough to be standing in the frigid cold.

"Ru-Sir, might I suggest we take this conversation somewhere warmer?"

Nanami had only played at an apocalyptic change, and not in the same way the rest of the Student Council had. "But only a near-apocalyptic change?"

"It was averted when a friend, Kouta, obtained the Golden Fruit and took all of the Helheim corruption away from the planet." said Zack. "After that, it was all rebuilding."

[rialynn]

Whoa. That was, um...an unusual reaction. Rialynn's gaze was more than a little concerned as she started to draw away from the railing. She was about to ask if Aya was all right, but it seemed the Moogle had already managed to snap her out of it. Wow, she must have really liked her job! ...Whatever it was.

"I'm not sure what an engine is, so probably not," she answered, her brow furrowed. "Unless it's just something bearing a different name. That's possible. Let's take a look at the 'engine' on this ship and find out?" She was curious to see what it was in any case, and how it managed to propel a vessel of this size through the sky.
