There's an alarm bell going off in the back of Jack's mind. He gives a slight double take and then looks at Erika carefully and is suddenly trying to figure out how old she is. Normally, he shouldn't be one to judge how things are done on other planets, but the particular internal voice that is raising an objection is the one that doesn't like to be ignored.
