Intro Log || This Keeps Happening

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of January. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: Snow. Also some leftover decorations from Christmas.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Sounds terrible? Welcome to Crystallis.

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —

Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —

With Christmas being barely over, there are still Christmas Decoration in the streets, and while the reconstruction are nearly over, there are still traces of the attack the Empire led against the city six months ago. A few buildings are being worked on.

And besides the decorations and reconstructions, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. A few groups of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and a Blitzball Match is set to start at 20:00 in the stadium! Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with Moogles, most of them discussing about the election for the future director of Mognet. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

The Laboratory
— Anytime —

A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...

Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).

At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

The Hospital
— Anytime —

Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.

A couple Moogles and a few nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. Upon exiting the room, they will also meet a lot of guards, and they all have for order to shoot anyone that comes out of this room without a Moogle. Hopefully you won't try running out without waiting for your Moogle. As for why the guards are so on edge, it might be a good idea to ask the other Heroes of Light about what happened a couple months ago.

Close Encounters of the Third(?) Kind
— 15:00 —

Characters venturing by between the city's outskirts and the Chocobo Farm at this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a Chocobo before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. If your character do see it, hopefully there will be someone with them. Otherwise, nobody will believe their story.

Was it an UFO or just a hallucination? Previous sightings of such a thing have happened. It might be a good idea to investigate this sometimes...

With the arrival of a new batch of humans, Ales took a break from his work - as little as he could make after New Year's Day - to great the group. By his judgement, he would be a little late, but that wasn't important. Give the newcomers a few minutes to get over their initial shock. He turned the corner that lead straight to the main room of the temple.

At that moment, a green haired man ran out of the room. In the split second before they collided, Ales froze and attempted to jump out of the way to no avail. The Teensie went flying, his hat and wig tossed far down the hallway. The world passed by in slow motion. This was it. He was going to die for the second time, and in a stupid way to makes things worse.

He twisted in mid air so that he hit the ground nose-first. It protected his head, but in exchange, a trickle of blood formed from the side of his snout.

"Why..." he poked at his tender face. A few more seconds, and he'd realize how angry he'd be at Jaeha.

Damn, he'd just hit someone. Jaeha wasn't quite so callous and selfish that he'd just let that go. He did want to get out of here before any guards arrived (since this was surely some sort of trap from what little he could tell), but he was pretty sure he'd just mowed down a kid.

He grit his teeth. He shouldn't stop, couldn't afford to. But he'd hit that child hard enough to send him flying.

His shoulders hunched. Well, if the guards came, he was sure he could still kick them into next week, even without the strength of his Dragon's leg. He picked up Ales by the collar to set him on his feet, one hand braced on his chest to support him.

"You all right, little... Hm?"

His eyebrows rose, then furrowed. His smile remained, but there was a definite glint of wary suspicion. "And what might you be?" Not a child, that much was obvious.

Ales pushes himself off the floor with one hand and gripped his hat with another...only for it to touch his hairless head. Damn it, this was even more humiliating! He jumped up and frantically turned his head left and right.

Left and right.

Why did the temple have to put so little light in the side rooms? Finding a black hate was nearly impossible in these conditions.

"Look, help me find my hat first. That's the first step to apologizing."
droopy_eyes: (Friendly)

[personal profile] droopy_eyes 2016-01-16 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
He'd really rather not. This...person...could find the hat easily enough on his own, and now that he knew he hadn't mowed down a small child, he was less inclined to be polite. But...

Hm.

A glance at the doors showed that there wasn't anyone rushing forward to subdue the newest imported prisoners, and the Moogle he'd woken up to was more busy complaining about him and making angry gestures in his direction. All right, then.

Given his height advantage, it wasn't hard for him to spot the hat hanging from a nearby sconce. He smirked a little, amused that it would have landed like that, and plucked it free to plonk it down on Ales's head.

"There you go. Now if you'll excuse me..."
umslay: (you're welcome)

Ales snatched his hat, which had the wig sewn onto it, out of Jaeha's hands and forced it onto his head, not caring for the locks to settle properly. Alright, so a second of thought had him decide otherwise. Now the hat and wig were properly aligned on his head.

He cleared his throat and gracefully held a hand to his chest. Jaeha's first impression of him may have ruined everything, but he'd be damned if he didn't attempt to salvage what was left.

"But first, let me welcome you to Crystallis! I'm sure the Moogles have explained what's going on, but let me introduce you to the city! As you may know, you are currently in the Temple of Fire, which houses the very important Fire Crystal. Just outside are the museums and library, if you're like to spend the day somewhere warm, and to the north is Aqures Castle, where the legal stuff happens, if that's what you like. I would also recommend the stadium southeast of here as well!"

This person seemed lost, and Ales saw no reason not to give him a brief guide to the city.

[personal profile] droopy_eyes 2016-01-19 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
The little creature seemed friendly enough, Jaeha couldn't fault him for that. But really, what was the point in playing tour guide to someone who had no intentions of staying in this city at all? He sighed, brushing his fingers through his bangs.

"Is that so. Who lives in the castle?" The corners of his mouth tilted slightly upward. "I take it that's where I'll find the person in charge of us being brought here in the first place?"
umslay: (charming)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-01-19 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"There used to be a queen, from what I heard, but she's gone into hiding." He waved a hand to the side. "Now, it's just bureaucrats and, you know, the people that are supposed to answer our questions.

Not that he trusted any of them save for Dr. Cid.

"However, I doubt you'll get a straight answer. They're just as confused as to why you're here as I am."
droopy_eyes: (Uneasy)

[personal profile] droopy_eyes 2016-01-20 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
A queen? Was she the one responsible for this mess, then? It would explain why she'd gone into hiding, since Jaeha would definitely have words for her.

So that brought his attention back to Ales. He was a curious little fellow, and didn't resemble anyone else in the temple as far as he could tell.

"You're not from this place either, then?"
umslay: (you're welcome)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-01-24 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course not! This world doesn't have Teensies living in it; it makes my very existence here a curiosity among the locals, don't you know?" He spoke with a lax smile. The stares didn't bother him anymore, and that fact become more of a joking topic than a discussion of how annoying moving here has been.

"Everyone we call a Hero of Light came from another world, and we all need to stand in solidarity when a new group shows up. I'm sure there'll be more coming in here after me."
droopy_eyes: (Secretive)

[personal profile] droopy_eyes 2016-01-24 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Is that so." He was certain they could all enjoy their solidarity without him, as Jaeha wasn't even the slightest bit interested, not even out of morbid curiosity. And if more were coming, all the more reason he shouldn't hang around any longer.

"Seems like I shouldn't keep them waiting, then. Why don't you go help out that confused looking lady, and I'll go say hello to these other 'Heroes.'"

More like he'd be saying "LOL BYE!" but. Details.
