"HRGH!" Reno doubled over with a grunt, clutching his stomach. He gagged but thankfully managed not to vomit. Coughing, gasping for his breath back, he glared up at Yuffie with glassy eyes.

"You say that like yer surprised," he croaked hoarsely. "I'm mean."

It wasn't entirely true... not anymore. But he was raw and he was hurting, and he was pushing Yuffie away even if, deep down, he did want her company. Anyone's company, really. But he and Yuffie had formed some kind of bond since he'd arrived, against the odds, and it was weird but he might actually like it. It was nice. Which was why he didn't deserve it.
