Chocobo - Go Go Go!

Summary: Cloud and his friends embark on a journey south across the continent to visit the fabled Chocobo Forest

To say that Cloud was overwhelmed by the support he received in chasing down a rumor for the sake of his chocobo would be an understatement. Friends and acquaintances both had come together to help, largely by a single bond: their love of Chocobos and their desire not to see one suffer any longer than he had to from the illness he’d been suffering. It would be a long journey, but as long as luck was with them and they moved swiftly he hoped that they would be back in around a week.

Shining is there, and with a laugh he pulled up, jingling. "Well hello there boys and girls, Santa comes to save the day!"

Yeah, what's that he has? It's his sleigh. Hooked up to it is a choco and himself. "Lets load Zack up and we'll be on our way. Is everyone here?"

Cloud smiled as Shining arrived. He had looked into getting a cart to help transport his companion, but this was even better. There would be no question now that they'd at least be able to transport Zack.

"Thanks Shining. Bring the sleigh around to the side of the barn. And I think we can borrow at least two more birds to hitch to it." It would be up to the other Heroes if they wanted to add their own to the cause but all of this was going well.

Cloud hurried on ahead and by the time Shining got there the blonde would be coaxing his bird from his bed. "Come on boy. You can lay down again in a second. Just take it easy." Zack wasn't completely bedridden but his stamina was shot.

Dice floated ahead to help with the hitching and the loading, as Shining waited for Zack to lay down in the back of the sleigh where the presents would have gone. "We'll probably need two more birds then, since I can't be going full tilt all the time."

"There you go, that's it, nice boco, kupo," said Dice, backing him up like one would a heavy load.

Cloud looked at Dice and gave him a nod. He was happy that the moogle was helping out. Mako was concerned but was busy with his own business. Cloud wasn't thrilled with it, but he understood. There wasn't much his own moogle could do for this situation. And if anything did come up he was sure Mako would come to them straight away with a letter.

"I'll see what I can do. I appreciate all of this though. I can't tell you how much. And if you need a break just let us know." Zack gave a trill as well, not as strong as he would have liked, but still enough to express thanks to the pony.

"Thanks. If we really needed a fourth Chocobo then it's not a big deal, but we'll be headed out for quite some time after all." He grinned at Cloud and nodded.

"Hopefully everything goes well."

"Definitely. It might be a good idea to have enough that we can rotate so that some can get some rest." Even if the Chocobos could run for hours on end, there was a difference between running and pulling.

Cloud's eyes went to Zack as he lay in the sleigh. The bird was giving off a few whiny trills, but it more sounded like he wanted to get this show on the road than being in pain or anything like that. "Definitely. I think Zack wants to be back on his feet more than I do." He smiled and shook his head with a smile. He was proud of that bird.

"Being cooped up when sick is never fun, even for birds and animals," laughed Shining. "We'll get this show on the road when everyone is here. And I'm also equipped with White Mage just so that we have a healer on the way there."

"Then it's even better that you're coming. Let me get a few more supplies and I'll be ready at least. Is there anything I can find for you?" Cloud was halfway to turning and walking back to the barn as he spoke. He was eager to get moving.

"If you can grab a couple sacks of oats in there, I'd be appreciative. It's good for a quick snack for us ponies," said Shining, indicating the sled.

"Sure, no problem!" It actually helped Cloud to hear that. While there had been a couple nonhuman Heroes about Cloud honestly didn't know what to do about these....ponies. In any case he shot Shining a nod and ran off to get some extra supplies for him.

"And a feed bag!" He called out after Cloud. There wasn't many times when Shining would consent to a feed bag, but like the hardworking rail ponies of old, sometimes you had to toughen up.
