Lydia was hoping they'd lost them. Much as part of her was still in the grips of her Job's ability, she really didn't intend to harm most creatures except in self-defense. Granted, she was learning that most of what everyone called 'monsters' here on Crystallis were hostile to them--but she couldn't tell for sure why. Not without a way to understand them, that didn't exist for her yet.

In any case, she didn't stop running until they were back where the Golem had been originally. Then she found an area near a tree for cover, and crouched, listening. Trusting Sephiroth would be able to find her, and if not, she could find him--once it was determined if it was safe.
