Yuffie gave Barkeep a flat stare. “Gee, thanks pops.” She finished her drink in a few quick gulps and then placed down the glass. She held its rim firmly between her finger tips, twisted it and the released the glass. She was watching her empty glass with a silent fascination while her mind slowly tumbled through thoughts.
She wondered when she started liking Vin, if it was just recently or just building. She’s known the guy for over 3 years now. She really didn’t know, she really hoped that Barkeep was right. That she would just get over it because it hurt. It hurt more than she wanted to admit to anyone and it sucked.
“Caring for anyone is hard. They can disappear here or die at home. I know people who’ve been alive longer than they should but that doesn’t mean they’ll be around forever.” She released a long breath. Her father would one day die as well, which wasn’t a thought she wanted to think of. In truth, she’ll have to marry whoever can keep Wutai safe. Princesses aren’t supposed to have crushes or fall in love. It was against the rules somewhere.
