Kaji swiftly follows Ib, trusting her to lead him until Jade's body comes into view. Kaji releases her hand and drops to a knee. "Cura!"

White light collects around Kaji's hand...and then fizzles, dissipates into the air. Jade isn't in a state to receive the healing magic. "Damn it," Kaji's head drops. "We were too late."

"Not your fault, you got me as fast as you could." Kaji stands up, and now the realization kicks in that his daughter just witnessed a murder. This was no accident. So he starts to try to lead her away. "We'll get the Marshall. But, what did you see?"
