It was also somewhat reminiscent of Aizen's tactics, focusing people's attentions on one serious matter so he could work toward a hidden goal undisturbed. It was smart, and that's what made it scary. Dumb criminals and monsters were never quite as dangerous as the ones with a degree of intelligence.

"I'd like to assist with the investigation, then, if I am able. I'd like to know who's ultimately responsible, and what their true goals are. Until we know these things, our efforts aren't going to bear much fruit."
