Event || Cluedo

When: 15th June - 30th June.
Summary: Catch-all log for the Cluedo Event. If you would like to pursue investigations and play out the fall-out of the Cluedo events, this is the post for you. Please refer to the second OOC Post for the setting and what there is to be played. Another Log will be posted at a later date to play the murders.

A murder? This soon?

Pulling himself to full attention, he reached out with his telekinesis to halt Ruby's flailing arms. "Deep, centering breaths first off," he said, holding her hands with warm magic.

"Now then, explain to me again, slower, and more detailed. And lead me over to the crime scene."

It took a little while for Ruby to calm down, but once she did, she shuddered slightly. "C-C'mon, I'll tell you on the way." she said, walking on. "I... I was on my way to the bakery when I found two people laying on the ground. N-Not moving, not breathing... a-and there was a woman there, too. She ran off when she saw me a-and... I... I couldn't catch her..."

Following close behind, Shining paused at the sight. Two people, like Ruby said, and he circled around, unwilling to touch for the moment even with magic for disturbing the crime scene.

"This woman, can you describe her to me?" asked Shining as he made a wide circle looking for tracks or evidence of some kind.

The bodies Shining will find are two Heroes - Jack Harkness and Aoi Kurashiki. No blood on the ground, so no entry wounds.

"The woman? Uh... th-that's the thing. I... think it might have been one of us. A-All I know is that she was wearing an Assassin gear thing!" Ruby said. "At least, I think it was that."

"Assassin gear." That narrowed down the list of people, but without a complete look at everything, Shining had nothing to go by except the possibility Ruby would know the death.

Stepping towards Jack and Aoi, he looked over the pair. "I really don't want to move the bodies," he murmured to himself, loud enough for Ruby to hear. "Did you manage to see where the woman took off?"

"She went into an alleyway, but then I lost her." Ruby admitted. "It happened so fast and..." she sighed and shook her head. "I could have caught her if I had my usual abilities. Or if I used what I had to stop her..."

"I understand. A lot of us feel uncomfortable even now with the abilities we have."

Hopefully the police was coming. But for now, Shining looked around. "Ruby, can you get some plastic bags and tweezers from the nearby store? I'd like to check the bodies for evidence without touching anything."

The police sure did have some timing as Saori, dressed in her law enforcement uniform, came running with her moogle behind her. She stopped in front of the two, catching her breath.

"I can't believe there's another one. Leave the evidence collecting to me." More officers will eventually come, she hoped. "Just make sure no one else outside the police comes closer to the scene, okay?"

She was silent as she did a quick examination until she looked up at Ruby. "I believe you mentioned you saw someone flee. Which direction? I'll take a look there as well."

Indeed, speak of the police, and they appear. Ramza was not long in arriving after Saori, and he had his law enforcement badge pinned to his chest.

A quick glance around the crime scene assured him that whoever the culprit was, they were gone now. At least the bystanders did not seem to be in any immediate danger.

Judging by marks on the street where the now-crystallized body had been, it was not hard to calculate which rooftop the victim must have fallen from. Rather than ask the shaking girl to recount her tale again so soon, he turned to Saori.

"Can you secure the scene here while I take a look above?"

Ruby had went to get the items to help Shining, but as soon as she arrived, she found both Saori and Ramza there with them. She looked quite nervous at the fact that there were more people around.

"Um... ah... hi?"

Shining reached up and rested a hoof on Ruby's arm to steady her. "It's all right, they're officers."

He looked at the two. "I've noticed a few things about them, and Ruby has a description. One woman, assassin gear and equipment. Both died around fifteen minutes ago, and the bodies haven't been moved. I haven't had a chance to try a forensics spell to determine cause of death yet."

Ramza bowed to the girl and the...talking horse.

"Thank you. I apologize that you had to see this. I know it must be a shock. Is there anything more you can tell us? Anything that might help point us in the direction of the culprit?"

He was not sure what 'a forensics spell' would entail, but as long as he and Saori were watching over to make sure no evidence was compromised, he did not see how it would hurt to try it.

Saori's heart almost stopped at Ruby's description. There weren't that many female assassins to her knowledge. She just hoped her fears were just a product of her imagination.

"That I can do." Equipped with the Assassin job, she got up onto the roof without a hitch. She had her Eagle Vision on in the vain hope that the suspect would linger but no professional would do that.

She moved over to the roof just above the others. Nothing out of the ordinary--wait, there were tracks. While the trail went cold, she couldn't help but notice something odd about them. The footprints weren't clear cut as if someone sprinted away with ease. Maybe the suspect was injured? That wouldn't explain how they got both victims off guard though.

"Anything down there, Ramza, Shining?"

Shining was in the middle of casting the spell, and cataloging as much as possible with his limited return of natural powers. It wasn't completely accurate, but he was getting a good idea of what had happened. "The victim was killed pretty much instantly, barely a struggle." said Shining, giving his report.

His magic winked out for the moment as he started to case the body with the tweezers to delicately check it over. "What do we have here..." he said in a low voice, looking over the two bodies one by one. "Killed in the same manner...?"

Ramza shook his head. The akimbo sprawl of Jack Harkness' limbs were different from the more peaceful slump of the Kurashiki boy. Aside from the head, twisted at an impossible angle, he looked like he might have tripped and fallen.

"Perhaps the same culprit, but the cause of death is different. Jack must have fallen from a great height, but I doubt this one did."
