Summary: Catch-all log for the Cluedo Event. If you would like to pursue investigations and play out the fall-out of the Cluedo events, this is the post for you. Please refer to the second OOC Post for the setting and what there is to be played. Another Log will be posted at a later date to play the murders.

"I see... I suppose coming back from the dead would be nothing new to you."

This only makes Jade wonder what Jack is, exactly, for him to be effectively immortal. Whatever he is, the implications are heavy. How does it feel to know there's nothing after death, no solace or peace to be found for the ones lost? Not very comforting, probably.

Of course, things are different in Crystallis. Who knows whether the souls returning to the planet are aware of themselves?

"I do wonder why it was different for you this time. If it were just the nature of your natural immortality manifesting itself, it should have happened after Aqures Tosf, too."

"Nothing new," Jack repeats with an amused smirk. "True, but I've never heard it put like that. You've got a way with words."

"If it has nothing to do with the way I was killed, then it's probably to do with me." Jack holds up a hand and looks at it. "I used the Custom Job template to try to bring back my abilities from home, wasn't sure how it would express itself here."

"One thing we found so far is that I'm almost getting- disconnected from some of the rules of this world, the more I progress in it." He glances at Jade. "You got any healing magic equipped right now?"

If he was already curious about Jack before, Jade now finds himself taking more professional interest as the topic moves on to Custom Jobs. It's fascinating, how differently they all fit in within the context of Crystallis.

"I'm afraid not. But since you're asking that, I'm guessing healing magic is among the rules you're getting disconnected from?"

That's the only reason he can see to suddenly bring that up.

Jack nods firmly. "Lower level healing spells, it's like I don't count as a target, like you tried to cast it on a rock. I'm assuming that it's going to keep getting worse, but that as I progress, my natural healing is going to keep getting better. I'm actually healing up injuries faster than I would at home."

Jack sees no reason to not come at his main point directly. "Except for death. Even my abilities can't seem to get me out of Crystal Stasis."

"It was Prajapati who told us that Crystal Stasis was a way to prevent the part of us with the Calamity from overtaking our normal selves. Just like with Crystallis, the Crystalization is a way to hold back the Calamity, it's not the Calamity, itself. Somehow, it's there to keep everybody safe."

"Hmm... Kalki said the same thing, now that I think about it. That the Crystal Stasis is a defense mechanism." At the time, Jade thought she meant it protected them from dying, but in hindsight... No, she didn't actually specify what the stasis protects them from.

He mulls over this for a moment. "I'd guess the Ancients programmed this mechanism into our crystals to help the early Heroes fight against the Calamity. Did Prajapati say anything about that?"
