Summary: Catch-all log for the Cluedo Event. If you would like to pursue investigations and play out the fall-out of the Cluedo events, this is the post for you. Please refer to the second OOC Post for the setting and what there is to be played. Another Log will be posted at a later date to play the murders.

This is toeing onto some fascinatingly dangerous territory. Jack would be lying if he said that there wasn't a part of him that wanted to see if it was possible. But he knows the rules. He has to question her motives, he has to know what it's for.

"Which use of the stone are you after? I have zero interest in the use of the stone." Carefully worded there, Jack. "And, once you have it, can you guarantee that it's not going to fall into anyone else's hands? I would hate to go through all this trouble, only to hand it over to Palitulu or Garland on a silver platter."

"So which is it? Immortality? Wealth? The prestige of making the stone here, when it couldn't be done in your world?" Jack shakes his head. "It almost doesn't matter, but I'm not walking into this with my eyes closed any more than you are."

This woman is no fool. Jack would not be able to talk her off her purpose, no matter what it is. If he doesn't help her, someone else will. And yet. And yet, and yet. He still wants to know.

Lust's eyebrows arched sympathetically, and she shook her head with a long-suffering smile. Really, he couldn't guess? All of these things he listed were strictly human desires. What need did she have for wealth, or immortality? Even power held no real appeal to her. He was cautious, and she couldn't blame him for that, but she would have thought it was obvious. Maybe creatures like her just didn't exist in his world.

She returned to him in slow, measured steps, lifting her head as she drew near his shoulder, so she could whisper it in his ear as if it were some great secret.

"All I wish is to be human."

She withdrew, fingers skimming his shoulder as she walked past him and folded her arms. "This world made me mortal. But it is not the same." She approached a console and leaned into it with her hands. "I still lack a soul. If anything, I'm even further from where I wanted to be once I was placed here." She turned to face him, and her countenance was serious. "The Philsopher's Stone has the power to change me back into what I once was. That is why I want it. Are you satisfied?"

Lust has clearly taken Jack by surprise, and his poker face drops. He starts to raise his hand, as if to touch those fingers that are lightly brushing across him. But he pauses and thinks better of it and lets his hand drop again. "Done." Very quiet, but resolute. This is no longer a game.

Or maybe it still is. But now that Jack knows the stakes, he can play better.

"A soul. Not just any soul, but your soul." Jack points at Lust's hand. "Using the Stone to get back what's yours? Not a problem at all. I've known people that have lost their humanity and then relished in it. Or thought that doing as much harm to other people as possible was the way to get it back. Or thought that they became something greater and then had to steal away what they could from other people to make them the same. It's all just a way to justify their existence."

Jack nods. "This is the same. But without taking from somebody else. So okay. Count me in, then." Jack grins devilishly.

She was surprised slightly at how eager he'd been to champion her cause. Her eyes were just a touch wider, her dark lips parted as if she'd needed a moment to catch her breath. Her reaction was genuine; altruism never made sense to her. It was useful when found in others, but one person's willingness to sacrifice so much for another's happiness was...odd.

But if he meant to help her, that was exactly what she wanted. "Don't give me too much credit," she chuckled, her surprise shifting back to that coquettish smirk as she brushed her hair over her shoulder. "Being who I was is the ideal, but as long as I'm human, and whole, that's all that matters. I'll take what I can get."

She'd wondered before if she'd be able to live with herself and all of her atrocities if she became that gentle and loving creature Scar had told her she'd been. How ironic it would be to regain her humanity only to take her own life out of despair~

"Well, then, what shall I do first?" she tapped a finger to her lip. "Shall I transform my appearance? Or perhaps you'd like to see my Overlord abilities in play? Those might interest you too, though I'd need someone who harbors darker thoughts...or someone mentally pliable." Which was a nice way of saying 'someone stupid.'
