Stupid Erika Shenanigans Part 2

Who: Erika and You
What: Maid Outfits. Oh and butler outfits too.
Where: Aqures Ixen, Fairy Drop
When: After Cluedo/Last two weeks of the month
Warnings: Maids

Foolproof plan.

All of it.

The recent invigorated Erika was transforming her shop that she shared with Tsubomi. Her employees were running at full capacity.

And now, it was time.

Clad in a butler outfit, she threw the doors open and hoisted a megaphone which was basically just a rolled up paper. "Come one, come all, the Fairy Drop is having a sale! Now until the end of the month, we are having a sale on Butler and Maid outfits! Each one tailored to your own specifications if need be! Come shop the Fairy Drop!"

Whoop, customers. Who would have thought that there was tons of people who wanted an awesome outfit?

Erika was met with another blank stare as Edna just stood there. It seemed to be a prolonged silence, though the seraphim could understand the other girl's obvious confusion.

"It's not for me," she said matter-of-factly, briefly closing her eyes as she paused again. "It's for someone else. Nevermind, why don't you just try it on instead of making someone else do it then?"

Tough customer, was the truth of it. When Erika finally emerged, Edna remained stone-faced, an index finger on the tip of her chin the only indication that that was even considering it.

Approaching, she walked around in a circle, looking at the dress from all angles, before finally announcing, "No, I don't think so. Try this one, next," and shoving one forward, with a big bow on the back of it.

Silence again, as she seemed to be contemplating the choice. It was pretty much what she was looking for, but was the size right? Mikleo probably wasn't much bigger than the slightly-oversized garment on Erika, buuuut...

"Wait right here," she announced, no other indication of what she was doing, before she disappeared from the store.

During the time that followed, Erika might have wondered if she was even coming back, as Edna seemed to be taking her sweet time. But finally, she came through the doors again, a red-clad woman with long white hair in tow.

Her umbrella was out again, and on her shoulder as she directed her companion to the model, looking rather satisfied. "Well, Lailah. What do you think?" The blue colour of the maid outfit should give a tell-tale hint of who it was for.

"Oh, goodness, this would look so cute on them!" Lailah exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "It looks like it's maid for them!"

...

Crickets.

"Is there a special occasion, Edna?"

Edna stood back for another minute or so, admiring the garment and imagining how it would look on its unsuspecting victim. She felt so satisfied that Lailah agreed, she even let the pun slide... not to mention that it was a pretty good one this time, anyway.

At the fire seraph's question though, she turned away, shielded by her umbrella as she spoke next. "Well, since they stepped into the role so well last month with all that taking care of others they did..." the truth of it was the whole reason she even survived that sickness was probably thanks to Meebo's efforts. It was a very Edna way of saying thanks.

When she looked back over her shoulder again, her expression was once again blank. "But it needs something more. Do you have any of those... lacy headbands?"

"Oh, how about a bow! A big, white, lacy one right on the side of the headband?" Lailah clapped her hands together. "Oh, you should get a matching one, Edna! It would be cute!"

Lailah... there's a glare here, just for you. Hasn't she talked to you about this before? About working on your personality?

"And take away all the attention from the other lady of the house? I don't think so, not today." Though some of them were... kind of cute I guess.

"Lailah, you try that one on," she pointed to a shelf that was rather high up, "And you," her crystal blue eyes locked back onto Erika. "You try that one there that looks like a tiara. I want to see them both."

Lailah happily ignores Edna's glares and hastily climbs up the aisle, finally getting the item in question and after jumping down she immediately equips it. "I have to say, I don't look half bad!" She happily observed, checking herself out in a mirror. "Maybe I should wear this on my next date with Zaveid!"

"Wow, miss, you look positively dazzling!" Lailah commented, admiring how Erika wore the tiara. "Perhaps you were royalty in a past life! What do you think, Edna?"

"You'll need more of a deterrent than that," was her only comment about a date with Zaveid. Averting that crisis would be her next project, probably. And as she looked over the two of them, she considered Lailah's comment about the shopkeep, tilting her head to the side.

"I guess anything's possible." Like queen of the frivolous lace. Or princess of the pleats. Dutchess of the megaphone maybe?

"Hey," it was back to business, "don't you have anything that looks like those two together? Hers doesn't have the same tiara shape, but yours could use more flair. And ribbon. I don't want this person thinking I cheaped out."

"This is a marvelous shop, I have to say." Lailah mused aloud. "Have you been in business for long?" May as well try to strike up some polite conversation. "Maybe after we're done here we can invite her to eat some sweets with us, Edna!"
terrorfirma: (...?)

Edna peered over Erika's shoulder, watching as she worked, finally easing off when she thought the task was just about finished.

"I guess her taste isn't that bad," it was as close as she would probably come to a compliment, as well as endorsing Lailah's suggestion.

"Wow, how beautiful!" Lailah chuckled, holding one up for Edna to see. "All I could do back in Glennwood was do equipment fusion! And it doesn't work here. Though I do have that Blacksmith job now..." She mused, more to herself than anyone else.

Letting Lailah yammer on, Edna stood back and examined the handiwork, and after awhile... actually smiled. Maybe it was at the mental image she was conjuring of Mikleo's face when she made him put it on.

Yeah. This was gonna be good.

"I'll take it."

Michael the Moogle, Lailah's companion, was off doing his own thing and wound up getting tangled in some random fabrics. Luckily none of them seemed like they were actual clothes. "Oh, you naughty thing," Lailah chuckled. Turning to Edna, she continued her thought. "Moogles seem a bit similar to normin, don't they?"
terrorfirma: (:P)

good place to conclude??

[personal profile] terrorfirma 2016-07-16 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
There was a nod from Edna, her business concluded, as she turned to leave and mad a gesture for Lailah to follow. She was quite proud of her acquisition, and would pay in mostly... change that was obviously picked up from the ground by the time she reached the till.

With her items in hand, she finally acknowledged her companion's comment, leaving the store with her words trailing off into the distance. Maybe there were similarities between the two, but she apparently felt the need to point out— "Their eyes don't bulge as much when they're squeezed, though. And so far I've only noted 25 transgressions, 12 areas to improve upon, and..."

Edna continued on her way out of the door, ready to get home and reveal her surprise.
