Summary: the Mars trio do some investigating and spend some quality time together.

In Sparks's opinion, getting out of Aqures Ixen for the week seemed like a welcome change of pace. It wasn't exactly a vacation, but to him, that was fine. A little investigative work would be good, and he was interested in getting their collective hands on the Black Mage Moogle, considering what it had just put him through. He was especially happy that Red agreed to come along. He may have been put off for just a minute when Jim agreed to come along too, but he got over it fast.


Trano Golsaucia, 17th-20th
This was a city that was hard to keep on task in, considering everything there was to do. There was now the added Starlight Celebration festivities on top of the usual distractions, and extra tourists to make navigating the crowds just a little bit trickier.

There was still a job to done, though, and plenty of people to talk to. But could one particular moogle be spotted in a place like this?


Aerilon, 22nd-24th
Turns out this city is busy too, thanks to the exceptional sales happening. It's a much different city than Trano Golsaucia though, and the three quickly realize that they need to be on their toes here. They residents might not be robots, but they know bandits when they see them. Chances that the moogle got to this far-away island could be low, and if there's any information to be found, it might not come cheap. It's still worth checking into, though.

NPC - Trano Golsaucia Cafe

[ As Sparks and his friends walk around the city in the search for the Moogle, they may recognize familiar voices in one of the city's numerous cafe. Sparks in particular may recognize these voices. There are three people sitting around a table, the woman with a cup of tea in hand, and they seem to be discussing. ]

… I still can't believe you lost those tickets, colonel. With the price they cost us, really.

[empirenpcs]

[ The colonel has a cup of café before him. ]

Again, I didn't lose them. One of those 'heroes' probably stole them.

[empirenpcs]

[ And this one got a beer in hand. ]

Bad memories. I thought the rule was to not speak about work during our vacations? Can't we just like, enjoy the scenery or something?

[ ... They seem to be very busy discussing and oblivious to their surrounding. Too bad there are plenty of people around and so attacking them may be a bad, bad idea. ]

[Before Sparks even has a chance to say anything else, he stops dead. He stares at the trio across the street at the cafe, a bit in disbelief.]

...Are you kiddin' me? Those spies are here? This planet is way too small.

[Red wasn't paying that much attention and damn near ran into Sparks. She was about to say something, but his words silenced her for a moment.]

Spies?

[She wasn't being loud about it. The word Spy made her tense up and she had the strong urge to shoot something.]

Is there a Jupiter Spy 'round here, Nevada?

Not Jupiter ones. Thank the stars fer that. Just Imperial ones. Had a showdown in the Magitek plant with ol' eyepatchy over there.

[Sparks's hand reflexively goes for his guns, which aren't there. He frowns as he considers how to proceed on this, and whispers some more to Red.]

As much as I'd like to teach 'em another lesson, there's too many people 'round. Could get way too messy.

[empirenpcs]

[ Gibbs looked around after putting down his beer and obviously spotted those who were looking a bit too intently at them. ]

Hey wait a minute, isn't that one of the clowns from the Magitek Facility? And Kalki's statues--

[empirenpcs]

[ Deweg and Jenni turn around to look at Sparks and his friends-- Only briefly so. ]

... Worst vacations ever.

...Crud, they spotted us. Wait, why'm I whisperin' then? Y'know I heard that, don'tcha? Morons.

[Sparks starts to approach. This might not be a wise course of action, but he doesn't really care right now. Or ever, usually.]

[empirenpcs]

[ None of the spies looked too perturbed at him approaching. Jenni took a quick look around before taking back her cup of tea. ]

I see a potential of at least one hundred innocent victims should you try anything funny. I believe neither of us want that.

[Sparks slowly approached the group, and folded his arms. He stood a few feet back to size them up, but didn't look impressed.]

So. Fancy meeting you here.

[It's at this point that he should probably say something witty and intimidating, but now that he's looking at them, he's coming up short. He planned to roll up to the table and put them under arrest, but he's not marshal on this planet. As a police officer, he didn't have jurisdiction in this foreign city to put them under arrest.

So now he had no idea what to do, and hesitated.]

...You, uh.

I hope yer enjoyin' yerselves...

[Right, sarcasm. That'll do it.]

As a matter of fact, we do, thanks for asking! And there's even the circus in town just for our vacations-- Who would have known?

[ Jenni laughed at that and Deweg remained silent. Looks like sarcasm worked wonders. ]

Yeah alright, whatever. Reckon I have to disappoint ya, as I ain't much fer juggling or acrobatics. Reckon what I am here to do is remind ya that what we all started back in that Magitek plant ain't over. Shame there's so many civilians 'round, cuz I'd be more than glad to just take care of it right here 'n now. Plus I know some folks who ain't here right now that at least are owed a hit or two on y'all as well.

[And Sparks sounds sure as anything that he really could take care of things right here and now. His ego knows no limits.

He shoots them all a smirk.]

Shame ya had to miss yer show, though. I think Yuffie managed to fetch a good price for 'em, though.

Reckon we were doing our job and now we are on vacation. You're ruining the taste of my beer right now with your speech.

[ He sighs. ]

[empirenpcs]

[ Needless to say, the bit about the tickets are a bit harder but while Deweg and Gibbs would be more than happy to ignore him-- She's not. ]

How are Cloud and Genesis doing?

Oh, hey, thanks fer askin'. Pretty good, actually. Well, Cloud got airsick on the way here and it was totally gross, but otherwise, y'know. Good.

[How smug does he look right now? SO SMUG.]

[empirenpcs]

[ It looks for a second as if she'd like to punch him, but she grows as calm as her colleagues. ]

Oh, because you think he just died then came back? Bah. [She put down her cup of tea.] Even tea has bad taste now.

[empirenpcs]

And coffee.

[ This one puts down his coffee as well. Gibbs, well he seems to tolerate Sparks' presence a lot better than these two altogether. ]

Hey, Eyepatchy here seems to be doin' pretty well for a guy who took one heck of a beatin' too. I'd say that makes us even, but, uh, it doesn't. At all. Like not even for a second.

[Maybe he can't fight them, but if ruining their day is the consolation prize, Sparks would take it. Unfortunately he wasn't going to get much else out of this encounter, so he better back off before this goes totally sour. Not without one last comment, though.]

And since y'all seem to be alive 'n kickin' as much as well all are, I'll be sure to let everyone on our side know what's up. But don't go 'n cut yer vacation short on account of us. Y'all just keep stayin' far, far away from Aqures Ixen. Unless ya really do want me to arrest ya. Which I'd be more than glad to do.

Do you realize if we really wanted, it would take the Empire an afternoon at most to burn Aqures Ixen down to the ground?

[ She shook her head. ]

The only reason you freaks are still alive is probably because Lady Kalki and the Emperor want it, even if I can't fathom why.

[empirenpcs]

... Jenni, you speak too much.

[ She took a deep breath and sighed. ]

[Okay, that comment stops him. He's not about to walk away from a threat.]

Reckon if the Empire ever tries, they're gonna get a whole lot more than they bargained for. I know that y'all might have more info on me than ya rightly should, but that doesn't mean ya can underestimate me, or all the other people that've been brought here, neither. Your Lady Kalki is free to make all the freaky magic robots of us she wants. It ain't a substitute for the real thing.

[He purposefully leaves out calling them "Heroes", since they probably didn't buy into that whole thing.]

Yer Empire might want a war, but all we want is a way home.
