[Log] My life is a dark room...one big, dark, room.

Who: Lydia Deetz [personal profile] deadlyvu and Open
Where: Aquares Ixen, House B-13
When: Month of June
What: Lydia's turning the basement into a dark-room, and hunting for supplies.
Warnings: None yet?

Lydia had planned for a while to adapt the basement into a dark room, but with the murders happening (and her offer to help by photographing scenes if needed) meant she was finally moving to look into it. As in, find chemicals and things she could use to develop her film, as well as the supplies for a dark-room. Glad now that she'd learned to do it herself, as none of the convenient pre-mixed blends of developing fluid and rinse were available.

Not that there was much time before the 'curfew', but Lydia was making the most of her time after school. Out on her bicycle shopping, or sending BP on errands. Definitely a month-long project.

Sorry housemates in B13, Lydia is cleaning out the last of anything Henry had left (after working with Nanami before to clear out the dangerous stuff). She's also taking down tables, and installing some long lines to hang photos from, and playing around with lighting. Sorry for the noise, but the curfew is at least giving her a lot of time to spend at home.

Santa really shouldn't be surprised that the weird noises in the basement were from the Creepy Child. Santa saunters down to check it out. He's still wearing the thick scarf he adopted after waking up from his broken neck, but otherwise, he acts like he was never dead for a week.

"Yo. Whatcha up to, C-C?" He doesn't move to help yet, but he sits on the stairs and watches her progress on the dark room.

Curfews suck. Martial law was worse, but fortunately the town hadn't devolved to that state.

Either way, Meteor was hurrying back at the end of the day, a stack of books in his arms. He had gone to protest loudly at the suspicion of his friends at the station but on the way in, he noticed Lydia. "Lydia!" He called out with a relieved smile. "I thought you were still around."

It could be said that Meteor was out of his armor this time, and he was dressed casually with surprisingly Earth-modern clothing from Fairy Drop, and he was wearing glasses since he needed them for reading.

"I've been studying in between all the madness. I think I have a good handle on magic now," said Meteor with a smile.

"I've also been reading up on tactics too, in case I ever want to sub into Tactician. I see you have things for home."

"Looks like you've gone full dark side and you're making yourself a lair." Nah, he knows what she's up to, but that is no reason not to tease the little gothling.

"But, did the level of annoyance around this freakin' place drop while I was gone? Let's be honest here..." Because he doubts everything was sunshine and roses while he was down for the week.

Next time Lydia goes out of the room, she's totally going to find a sign tacked to the door reading, 'Baby's First Lair'. They grow up so fast...

"Skull thrones are terrible for your posture. We should get you something sleek and modern. Don't wanna stunt your growth."

He watches her moving around the furniture. The shorty has spunk. Santa's lips quirk into a smile.

"Quiet? How boring. C'mon, you should get some henchmen on that. That's Evil Overlording 101." He stands and finally steps down the last stair, in case she needs to move anything else around. He's not gonna let the kid topple a shelf over on herself and get hurt.

"Admittedly a little of both," said Meteor, hefting his books and adjusting them in his arms. "I've never been good at magic."

"That's a strange concept, not believing in magic. It's a part of the smallfolk's lives back home. There's always been magic, especially inside of everyone." He said with a thoughtful expression.

"What is all this stuff anyway?" Nanami is from a time before digital photography caught on, but she never delved too deeply into photography. On the other hand, it couldn't hurt to know how it worked. In case she needed it.

"Ah, I see. Religion is a common concept back in Eorzea, although people worship different gods depending on their race, tribe and whatever. I myself pray to Halone, the Fury. Not that I am part of the culture who reveres Halone to the point of crusading for her teachings, but as a warrior born it feels natural." said Meteor.

"How do your people deal with your god or gods?" asked Meteor curiously.

Santa shakes his head. "Wow, C-C, that's pretty ruthless. And limiting, too. You're never gonna expand past 'local terror' to the big-league evil unless you learn to delegate, and you're never gonna have anyone trustworthy enough to delegate to if you don't have evil benefits and stuff."

He takes the line from her and ties it a little higher than she would have been able to. See, this is why you need evil teamwork and the line will have less chance of strangling anyone who isn't watching when they walk down here .

"Ah I see." Well, that was interesting. Not that Meteor had any experience with gods other than the Mother Crystal talking to him.

"I guess worlds are similar and different wherever you go. Well, it's not like we need to dwell too much about it."

"People who ignore the strange and unusual tend to find out that the strange and unusual tries to find them," said Meteor with a little chuckle.

"At least, you seem to love it after all. Being involved in everything."

Meteor blinked for a moment and then returned the hug, letting her give him a big of a hug as she wanted. "I mean it, you're really great."
