Well, if she was aiming to render him both surprised and speechless, she managed it in spades. He leaned back with a jolt as she dove at him, as if in shock by the sudden diving-and-very-tight hug. Blinking he searched for something to even say, but usually it was he and his--"allies" was too strong a word for what they were, what he was--were among those committing the crime and acting in the shadows.
He had no idea how to comfort, despite having previously tried to be so for his sister. The least he could do was rather awkwardly return the hug in kind. "...That bad, huh." It wasn't a question, but if his presence was enough to bring this on, it had to have been bad in her eyes.
