[OPEN] 001
Who: Squall Leonhart + Open
Where: Hospital + Library
When: July 11
What: After a turbulent first few days, Squall goes to the hospital to check on a certain crystallized friend. Or you can find him studying at the library.
Warnings: TBA
[ Aqures Ixen: Hospital ]
[After his arrival, Squall had learned that Zell Dincht had been here too, although some time ago before him. Concerned and also curious about the state his friend was in, Squall had made his way through the city with the help of his moogle to the hospital.
He wanted to see this crystal stasis for himself.
After asking around and finally finding where Zell was being kept, Squall frowns deeply. There was Zell just as Selphie had said. He didn’t look like he was in any sort of pain but the crystal stasis was somewhat alarming. So this happened if they broke or lost their crystals.
Blizzara peeks out from his collar and made a small sympathetic whimper. He reaches up and rubs her ears.]
It’s alright, he looks fine. We’ll just have to check in once in awhile. And at least Selphie is okay.
[Anyone passing through could see Squall observing his friend. He might talk about it if approached correctly, he might not. He hasn’t seen Laguna yet.]
[ Aqures Ixen Third District: The Historical Center’s Library ]
[Squall finds himself here quite often the first few days, looking over books and reading whatever catches his eye. It makes him calm and his headaches go away and he’s able to shut out the noisy city just a little bit. It’s also a plus that this place is usually pretty abandoned for the most part.
Squall sits reading the History of Crystallis. It was better place to start learning about this place than anything. His moogle Blizzara lays napping on the table, her head propped up on some discarded books.]
...
[Squall might welcome other visitors for the right reasons, that being sharing information or other helpful conversations. Or bother him, dare you!]

Ah.. so you don't remember either...
[Bartz really should be used to this by now. Why does it still hurt?]
Don't worry about it. Terra and Cloud forgot too.
[So did Sephiroth. Bartz is beginning to wonder about this. Why is he the only one who remembers Cosmos and Chaos and that crystal stuff?]
no subject
[Squall regards Bartz with a cautious expression but somewhat curious as well. There were major timeline differences with Selphie too so logically for Squall maybe this person actually did know him from a different situation and time period? He doesn't recognize the names Terra or Cloud either.]
... Don't remember what, exactly?
[His tone is a little softer, less cold and more curious now.]
no subject
[It occurs to him that explaining all of that would take hours. And would be confusing. Heck, Bartz actually remembers it and he still doesn't understand everything that was going on.]
You know what? It's... kinda complicated. And it's not important anyway.
[Just like with Terra and Cloud, Bartz will just have to make friends with Squall all over again.]
Whether you remember me or not, I'm still really glad to see you.

[Squall shifted awkwardly, going to rub the bridge of his nose. This person was acting like he'd known Squall for years and it was still a little hard to navigate what he was saying. What was all this about Cosmos and Chaos...Stories for another time, perhaps...?]
And your name is...?
no subject
[Nothing ever keeps Bartz down for long and he's got that bright smile right back on his face.]
So what kinda jobs did you get? I started with Dragoon and Thief.
no subject
I've started with Warrior and Magitek Knight, it seems.
[He pulled at the tight collar of his current warrior barb. He missed his coat. And his signature gunblade.]
Looks like it's going to be a pain for me to get these jobs to appropriate levels.
[And get Magitek Gear... how...?]
no subject
[Bartz can't help but smile at Squall fussing with his armor. Bartz had thought the same way about the Dragoon armor he'd shown up in. He'd much preferred the looser fitting garb that had come with his second job.]
Have you tried them out yet? There's a lot of monsters out there so it helps to know what you can do.
no subject
Not yet. I've been a little busy. [A small sigh.] It's been... a bit overwhelming to be here.
[He crossed his arms.] That's my next plan.
no subject
[Not that it didn't start out crazy. Between time travel and dimensional rifts and a universe gobbling calamity, it's more like Crystallis just doesn't know how to be normal.]
I could show you around if you want. I spend a lot of time wandering so I've been just about everywhere.

[Squall frowns. From everything he had heard about this place, nothing seemed peaceful. Ever.
He actually finds himself considering Bartz' offer. Bartz seemed like he knew and understood a lot about this world already. It could be helpful. As much as his first reaction would be to say no, there is a piece of him that considers this a good idea.
So he shifts, and says a bit awkwardly,] Sure, that'd be good.
[Good job Squall, being nice and everything. Blizzara, his moogle wiggles happily in his jacket.]
no subject
[Yay! Bartz is thrilled. He really thought he'd have to pester Squall into agreeing.]
The calm plains are a good place to start. Nothing's too tough out there. And I can show you the chocobo farm. You should get a chocobo! They're really friendly and it makes traveling easier.
[The exuberant energy is just pouring off of Bartz in his excitement. Becoming friends with Squall again might be easier than he thought.]
no subject
But he does let out a small sigh when Bartz starts to ramble off in excitement. It was no lie that it was a little bit frustrating for someone like Squall to have to deal with "nothing's too tough out there".]
...I'll start with some training. Getting a chocobo right away seems ridiculous.
