Trying to get a tighter, third loop out of the plain black band he's using to secure it. If it had been Gaia, he wouldn't have cared. If Flence hadn't already been lost, he wouldn't have cared as much. As it is, he needs to balance being inherently flashy -as most combat-situations brought out in him- and being practical.
