A type of spiritual energy, then. That is what a soul is comprised of as well. I've never heard of anyone simply running out of energy.
[People can get devoured by Hollows and have their energy absorbed, but it isn't quite the same.]
I'd like to see your world someday...preferably when I'm a full-fledged shinigami. I'd like to understand the differences for myself.
