Natalia sucked in a sharp, rasping breath, immediately struck by a coughing fit. She curled a little closer toward Yuri's shoulder, a curled fist rising to her mouth instinctively as her delicate frame shook with each desperate cough. She hadn't been squeezed long enough to take on any unusual color to her complexion, but she did seem to be rapidly regaining her strength now that she could suck in some oxygen.

"I-I'm all right," she reassured him, her hand lightly pressed against his chest. Whether it was to brace herself or try to put some distance between them, it was hard to say. She didn't seem as if she were repulsed, but then again, it was hard to express much of anything when she was busy hacking and gasping for air. Natalia quieted for a moment with a few shaky, shallow breaths. She was all right. A little scratched up and bruised, but it was nothing to fret about.
