He didn't really care what others had to say about him so he obviously had no reason to fight them. People were just awful in their own way when they assume thing. He didn't want to have to be the guy that explained everything to them. It was a waste of time and he couldn't even guarantee that they would even believe him. It's best to let them assume whatever the hell they wanted to.

He shrugged as she slides past the doors and down the hallway with the keys. He's obviously ignoring her protest.
