The flames of the Firaga spell burn Ramza's skin, leaving his hair and clothes scorched and his armor sooty. Still, he cannot lose focus. He pushes past the pain, and bows to the knights before drawing forth Excalibur. This is a fight beget from hope, not from hatred, and these first Heroes are deserving of respect.
