shinrasfinest: (Hellsgate)

In hindsight, Sephiroth would put that opening in his defense -though completely of his own slipped focus- as a consequence of his decision to lead the Berserked Warrior back towards the group of Heroes. The damage from such abilities as Cloud's Meteorain, as well as being within good range of the healers was enough of a gamble to play with. However, it did also call for more of his attention to be split towards the other Heroes too.

Perhaps he was looking for that chance to be the tank-class, to be the Hero he came here to be, a little too hard. Arthur was on the battlefield now, and the King couldn't be left to be picked up potentially by one with less resistance.

Like Jade.

Lamorak's heavy slash seemed to come from no where and connected with splintering force between Sephiroth's shoulder armor and collar on his off-side, driving the tall man down almost into toppling to the floor before he grunted through gritted teeth, twisted and swept a leg powerfully out at Lamorak's in a retaliatory leg sweep.

Thankfully between the buffs being re-cast that he was in range of, and in particular Tsubomi's well-timed heal, the moment later when Sephiroth was back on his feet Deathblow was then charged once more and quickly followed by Hellsgate; the intention to finally finish Lamorak regardless of whether the leg sweep had been a success or not.
