If Jade hadn't been there, at best Sephiroth might well have been knocked over as the force of the attack heavy skid his boots along the charred floor of the temple. At worst, his defense might have shattered and that would have been the end of it, but it seemed the perfect circumstances worked in his favor for once.

He couldn't help but to look over a shoulder at Jade's comment and the curl to one side of his mouth, barely seen from the outside of one of his bangs, might have been a brief smile.

However two following waves of intense, burning flames across the battlefield pretty much destroys what was left of Sephiroth's Shell and leaves him shuddering from the new sensation of flesh being burned all anew. A scorching breath later and Sephiroth looks around from his position just a step away from Jade, bringing Masamune back up and around ready for another attack- the blade itself still gleaming almost ethereally from the charged Deathblow last turn.

"-argh."

He didn't see the Heavy Shot coming from the Archer behind him until the force of the arrow made aflame by the surroundings cracks in between shoulder plating on his one side. The powerful shot could rightly have gone right through him and out of the other side but instead gets trapped between armor and the meat of Sephiroth's left-shoulder as he manages to take a step forwards again before dropping to a knee, sword going limp in his hand.

Guess he won't be taking that Deathblow'd attack, this turn.
