One of the things most people don't talk about when it comes to heavy armor is how sweaty it gets inside. It's just gross and while the armor does save you're life there's nothing like that feeling of finally taking it all off at the end of the day. Breaking in through Cloud's bedroom window would have been easy enough and the pile of gear at the end of the bed was a nice hint to where he was.
