"Just the insides?" She looked at the eggs, scrutinizing the fragile little things, then at the bowl. How did one extract the interior without incorporating the exterior? Natalia was clearly puzzled, but she was determined. Picking up one of the eggs, she placed it in the bowl, then gave it a quick crack with the rolling pin to crush it. Satisfied, she reached in to start picking out the pieces of the shell. Was that how it was done? The smile on her face seemed to indicate she thought she was on the right track.

Now for the flour! He said to be careful with it, and she supposed that to mean pouring it carefully so it didn't puff up and dust her face and clothes. Cradling the bag under her arm, she tipped it, giving it a few light shakes to send brief gouts of flour into the mixing bowl.
