[It's the 23rd of December, and, as promised, Kuppa Cupo has opened its doors for the first (and hopefully not last) Christmas/Starlight party!]

[The entire restaurant is decorated for the season, complete with a large tree near the entrance. The ceiling is covered in lights, and the tables all have matching red and green tablecloths. Near the wall, the catering table is packed with food.]

[Even the helper moogles are taking part in the festivities, with many of them wearing elf or santa costumes. Whether you came early to help set up, or arrived fashionably late, enjoy!]

[Tsubomi feels... well... a little awkward. She got her Santa job back, still had EXP in her orb to fill it back to full and was planning to do all the Christmas-y things with the Santa job, but...

...Cloud's there doing it, too.

She's going to keep to back and away from prying eyes. If they saw her as a Santa, they'd think she was trying to steal someone's thunder and she would never want to do that.

Maybe she can sneak away and change before anyone notices...]

[Before she can sneak away there's a soft touch of a gloved hand on her shoulder.]

Ho ho ho! Where are you going, Santa? The party won't be the same without you?

[Cloud is still in costume himself, but he's smiling brightly.]

Woah!

[Tsubomi couldn't help but jump as Cloud caught up with her. She grinned sheepishly as she turned to face him, even with his reassuring comment.]

W-Well, I-I'm certain you don't need two of them... d-do you?

Alright! Let's get back on this sleigh!

[Cloud blinks at her comment, looking sad for a moment. He expected this, and he feels a bit guilty himself for making her feel put out. It's not what he intended, and it's actually something he thought about himself recently.]

Need? Mmmm, I wouldn't say that.

[He looks around the room, at all the people gathered and the festive decorations put up. There's a warm joy in this place that's been so fleeting for the Heroes as of late.]

Can I tell you a secret?

A secret? [Tsubomi blinked at what Cloud had said. However, she nodded at his request.]

S-Sure, you can tell me.

[Tsubomi wasn't that much shorter than Cloud, but even then he leaned over as he cupped his hand to his mouth, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper.]

How many Santas would you say are in this room right now?

Ah... [She looked around a bit, confused before she whispered back]

I... I don't know. Three? Maybe four?

Mmhmm, so you're thinking we can't all be Santa, right? You're worried that you'll get in the way?

[His smile widens, growing warmer.]

Besides gifts, what's the most important thing that Santa does?

He... makes everyone happy. G-Gives them hope...

[Cloud nods.]

The gifts are part of that. Leaving someone a surprise present is an easy way to make them happy.

[He looks around again, looking all all the people talking and laughing around the bright and festive decorations.]

Santa isn't just a person. He's also all the hope and cheer we give around this time of year. We're all Santa to someone.

[Looking back to Tsubomi he reaches up and straightens out her own Santa hat.]

Of course, the best Santas are the ones who can be sneaky about it. The ones who leave gifts and happiness in their wake without letting anyone know it was them. That's what Santas like me are for, to be the obvious one is looking at while the Real ones do the hard work.

Oh... oh, that makes sense...

[Tsubomi blinks, then looks around as she finally understands everything. She was needed just as much as Cloud and the others were as a Santa...]

[Cloud nods more firmly, happy that Tsubomi understands.]

Never let the fact that someone else is doing it stop you from doing something you enjoy. Especially if it's something that makes others happy too.

[He gently but enthusiastically claps a gloved hand on her shoulder.]

So Santa, are you ready to get to work? We've got a lot of cheer to spread and not much time to do it. Course, just because the season ends doesn't mean we have to stop, even after we put the costumes away. Ho ho ho!
