Summary: It's time for Cuppa Kupo's first annual Christmas Party! The party details are in an OOC post here and an IC post .

[It's the 23rd of December, and, as promised, Kuppa Cupo has opened its doors for the first (and hopefully not last) Christmas/Starlight party!]

[The entire restaurant is decorated for the season, complete with a large tree near the entrance. The ceiling is covered in lights, and the tables all have matching red and green tablecloths. Near the wall, the catering table is packed with food.]

[Even the helper moogles are taking part in the festivities, with many of them wearing elf or santa costumes. Whether you came early to help set up, or arrived fashionably late, enjoy!]

[Rialynn is still scanning the crowds for anyone she knows. Parties aren't really her thing, but it's nice to take a break from getting beat up by monsters, so there's that. But as dedicated as she is to finding someone to keep her from being a wallflower, she keeps glancing upward, not-so-discreetly avoiding the sprigs of mistletoe. Yes yes, it's a fun tradition, ha ha, no please. Why is there so much of it?!]

[There's Duster, sitting on the opposite side of the room, munching on a platter of cheese, free of mistletoe above his head. Things look safe for Rialynn--]

Kupo.

[It it weren't for a certain sunglasses-wearing Moogle fluttering at shoulder height. Tamekichi has a tiny mug of Kupo Nut eggnog in his paw, which he sips from with a grin.]

What're the chances that you and I could meet in such circumstances?

[He's been practicing this line all day, totally not stalking the corners of the room with mistletoe, totally not waiting for someone like Rialynn to step beneath on.

She's human, but that won't stop him.]

[rialynn]

Uh. Yeah. Fancy that, huh?

[He's a Moogle, but that doesn't make him any less intimidating. She backs away, refusing to look up. Maybe she can play ignorant.]

Great party, isn't it? Why it's the best OH HEY LOOK THERE IS DUSTER! HEY DUSTER!

[She takes a far more complicated winding path to reach him, dodging mistletoe all the way.]

[Duster's head jerks up. He heard Rialynn's voice, but the room is full of people, he looks away from hear, seeking out her face among the crowd.

Meanwhile, Tamekichi is not a Moogle that gives up easily. He follows after her.]

What's the rush? Don't be shy, it's a party, kupo!

[rialynn]

[Rialynn makes a point of pretending she doesn't hear Tamekichi, even though it's painfully obvious she does. She walks faster, hastening to a hustle. She's not even walking toward Duster anymore as her priorities have changed from 'find help' to 'find the exit RIGHT NOW.']

Where, uh...where did I put that bag of oats...? Oh, it's in the stable, how forgetful! Of me!

[Because most people bring bags of oats into a party?]

[Now, normally Tamekichi would give up at this point, but curiosity gets the better of him. Oats at a party? That sounds like there's a story behind that.]

What for? Is it for a party game? [He flies up right next to her, the flirty tone not completely gone, but the kiss is pushed back. For now.]

[rialynn]

Huh? Oh, uh...kind of! Bags of oats are awfully hard to hide properly, so it's part of a game. 'Hide the Oats!' The challenge lies more on the person who does the hiding. ...Instead of the seeking. .................Anyway.

[She's such a lousy liar. And she's not breaking her stride either.]

I can help with that.

[She's starting to pull ahead; Moogle flight is built for speed in a straight line, not maneuvering around a giant party, and he's starting to get tired.]

I'm good at finding places no one else can find, kupo...

[Was that supposed to be flirty or threatening?]

Great! That's...really great! See if you can find where I put it, then. I bet you caaaan't.

[Namely because the bag of oats isn't there. What kind of person is she, lying to Moogles? Well, better to lie about oats than crush his spirit because kissing is scary. Eh, she's partied long enough, time to run.]

Huh, wait!

[Was she telling the truth? Will he ever find the secret getaway filled with oats and Rialynn? Will he ever be reunited with this human girl? Tamekichi asks these questions as a paw reaches out towards her as she disappears into the crowd, never to be seen again.

Until everyone comes together to a meeting, or whatever happens to the Heroes.

It's still disappointing.]
