The Most Wonderful Party of the Year
Who: Anyone and everyone!
Where: Cuppa Kupo
When: December 23rd
Summary: It's time for Cuppa Kupo's first annual Christmas Party! The party details are in an OOC post here and an IC post .
Warnings: None! (At the moment, anyway).

[It's the 23rd of December, and, as promised, Kuppa Cupo has opened its doors for the first (and hopefully not last) Christmas/Starlight party!]
[The entire restaurant is decorated for the season, complete with a large tree near the entrance. The ceiling is covered in lights, and the tables all have matching red and green tablecloths. Near the wall, the catering table is packed with food.]
[Even the helper moogles are taking part in the festivities, with many of them wearing elf or santa costumes. Whether you came early to help set up, or arrived fashionably late, enjoy!]

It's before they've started laying tables, of course, when Sephiroth is stood on one of the tables, reaching close to one of the main lights in the middle of the room, in order to get that last section rooted into place so it wouldn't fall on someones head later. Even at his 6-foot 3-something of height, it's a stretch.
Not that it was a bad sight to behold; all drawn out muscles of arms and his vest riding up a little. At least he'd taken his boots off before climbing all over the tables.]
no subject
He's plenty aware of what a capable fighter this man was on top of his personality. However, beyond what he saw on the surface, he really didn't know much about him. ]
Thank you for assisting us with the set up. It's rather hard to reach the higher places without accidents for Anise, Selphie and Myself.
no subject
There.
Sephiroth leans his weight more back into the center of the table he's stood on and finally physically relaxes as that last part is as pinned in place as it's going to get. It's not entirely fool-proof since moogles can fly, but it'd take a particularly clumsy -or intent- one to knock it down now.
He flicks his head, dismissing the hair to his bangs out of his line of sight before looking down at Mikleo. A smooth movement later and he lowers himself into sitting on the edge of the table, easier than towering above.]
Right. That's exactly why I offered.
[A small smile, just to take the sharp edge off that which is often perceived in the way that Sephiroth talks to others.]
no subject
Allow me to assist you in any way I can as well. You are also free to take a break whenever you feel tired.
[ He replied to the other. He didn't seem that hard to talk to. ]
no subject
He remained sat on the edge of the table for the time being and offered a short nod at Mikleo's suggestion.]
I will do, don't worry. I'm enjoying the change of routine, to be honest.
no subject
That's good to hear. It means we'll get things done in no time. What else do you need to do in the mean time? I'd like to assist.
no subject
Unfortunately it's not so infectious so as to have spread to the silver-haired hero.]
Well- [Sephiroth casts a glance behind Mikleo and up over the ceiling spreading out over the rest of the room. Sharply examining the work he's spent a good deal of time already helping to put up so it would stay up. It's very festive, with greens reds and golds...yet he's hardly the judge to call if anything would be missing.]
-you don't think it needs something to...break it up a little?
no subject
That's too bad but Sephiroth does seem like a very serious individual from what Mikleo has seen. Of course getting to know the other would probably change that view he had at the moment. ]
Perhaps. The colors definitely fit well together but breaking it up a bit will make it seem less busy...?
no subject
[He's tilted his head up and back in the meantime, inspecting the work he's already spent a good hour or so putting into. It's probably all fine, all as perfect as it needs to be but there will forever be that small voice of doubt at the back of the mind of any such perfectionist.
Sephiroth looks back at Mikleo at his suggestion. Tilting his head ever so slightly to one side, one of his bangs falling in that direction along with the posture shift. Maybe Mikleo had an idea what he was thinking-?]
But maybe it needs to be...?
no subject
[ Mikleo's contemplating really hard right now to see what can work for the both of them. He puts a hand under his chin as he tries to think about how it will work but Mikleo himself is looking to be quite the perfectionist himself. ]
Maybe just split right here so it looks like an walk way since it's near the door?
[ Man this is hard. ]
no subject
Sephiroth looks specifically in the direction he figures Mikleo must be referring, narrowing his eyes and deepening his brow just between eyes ever-so slightly. Thinking, considering, visualizing.]
I think you might be right.
[He says finally, shoving off the table with both of his hands and beginning to stride through the now-mostly decorated cafe towards the front door. His head tilted back as he gets nearer, bringing fore-fingers and thumb together in a triangle before dropping them and nodding.
Next it's the looking around for a nearby chair-]
no subject
You think so?
[ He watched as Sephiroth walked over to do his deed and after seeing him looking for a chair, Mikleo offered a more stable solution-- a decent sized step ladder. He might as well use it since Selphie would throw another fit if someone else fell off the ladder. ]
Would this work?
no subject
Ah-
[Quickly the appreciative nod had a flash of a smile tacked on the end of it as Sephiroth took the step ladder from Mikleo and -taking a careful peer through the front window in case anyone might then choose to enter the cafe- went about setting it up in exactly the place where Sephiroth would be able to reach to undo some of the over-decoration that had been put in place earlier.
It only seemed a short moment later that he was up above Mikleo again, stretching up and pulling out pins from in the ceiling just above the door. The first long train of glittering tinsel and holly came down in a controlled manner; breaking up the festive colors already present, just so.
Hopefully Mikleo would be there, still, to be able to help take some of this excess out of Sephiroth's hands.]

Can I offer any help with that?
no subject
It seems Sephiroth had gotten himself into a tiny bit of a predicament; that is, he seems to be a pin short and just so happened to look over his shoulder as she asked. If he moves, it's likely that the whole train he's just spent time getting up might fall again, and along with the stretched-way he's reaching, it's all a bit of a balancing act currently.
There is a small pot of flat-headed pins set on the adjacent table, as only a fool would have put it on the table that they would then be climbing on.]
Hm, yes. Could you?
[He can't quite see the pot of pins from where he's standing but hopefully it's not too much of a puzzle.]
no subject
More important, though it takes a moment or two, she grasps what he's after and nods.]
Of course. Just a moment…
[She takes the pot, since he'll know better how many he needs, and comes over to hold it up.]
Can you reach it? [she's relatively tall for a miqo'te, but still…]
no subject
Stretching out an arm towards her proved he might knock the pot over out of her hands instead of taking just one but Sephiroth has more intelligence than to just keep trying to reach. Already the backs of his legs and lower back were starting to ache from how he's holding up the decoration waiting for that last pin, so instead he waves her around the other side of the table.]
Around this side-
[She might have to move another chair out of the way but then -maybe- if he switched his hands he'd be able to reach.]
no subject
[she moves, spending as little time moving the chair as she can although she notes it. If this doesn't work then- well, hopefully it will- and holds the pot up again, stretching up as much as she can.]
Any better?
no subject
As quickly as he can make it Sephiroth brings the hand that had been outstretched to meet the other, deftly changing the supporting fingers for the decoration and adjusting his balance. The relief down the one side of his body instant as he briefly chews on the inside corner of his mouth -almost enough to produce a pout- before locking his eye contact on to where K'pandolu has moved too.]
That's great.
[So much easier now as he successfully dips fingers into the shallow pot and takes out two or three of the small pins.]
no subject
Good.
[She stays still until he's got the pins, and then relaxes for the moment, lowering her arms.]
You wouldn't have thought they'd be so much trouble, would you?
no subject
[Just a brief pause as with a small, sharp movement the pin that would support the majority of the weight of the decorative train was driven home.]
-a lot more to it than you might think.
[And a final pin put into place then finally Sephiroth can release his hold on it completely. He keeps his hand close for a second -just in case- but then takes a step back. Crouching first to slide his legs around the edge of the table and then sitting down.
Sephiroth flashes a smile at K'pandolu and stretches his feet -black socks and all- out in front of him.]
Seems about done now though.
no subject
That's a relief off everyone's minds. And hopefully they'll appreciate the work you've done.
[she smiles back for a moment, but goes quiet, tail flicking. Given the time of year, she's a little worried.]
How have you been holding up?
no subject
It's been something different, for sure-
[He stops, noting the sudden quiet-and-tail-flick. He's really starting to get the hang of miqo'te expressions; who'd have thought!
Sephiroth tries not to let his inward flinch at her question show too much on his face, but the slight tightening to the space between his eyebrows wouldn't be hard for her to miss. A second later though, that hardness softens a little.]
I've been....holding up. [Ugh-]
It's difficult for everyone this year.
no subject
She's been around long enough, surely. Certainly enough she doesn't miss that change, her own expression dropping a little. She nods after a moment, hands coming together.]
That's certainly true… Perhaps because the battles are that much closer. But I'm glad to hear that. [she offers a quick smile, tail curling slightly.] The year's end comes, but- so does the beginning of the next, doesn't it? So- I believe- there's hope yet.
no subject
It's at the front of everyone's mind that it could be the last Starlight. Not only here on Crystallis, but on any other worlds-equivalent as well. I think Heroes, in particular, are sharply aware of that-
[There'd be no awkward beneath any mistletoe this year. No fireworks while keeping another warm. Sephiroth goes silent, his eyes following an unseen pattern on the floor as those thoughts go on behind his eyes. Eventually he looks up.]
-you know, I've never been one to hope.
