The Most Wonderful Party of the Year

Summary: It's time for Cuppa Kupo's first annual Christmas Party! The party details are in an OOC post here and an IC post .

[It's the 23rd of December, and, as promised, Kuppa Cupo has opened its doors for the first (and hopefully not last) Christmas/Starlight party!]

[The entire restaurant is decorated for the season, complete with a large tree near the entrance. The ceiling is covered in lights, and the tables all have matching red and green tablecloths. Near the wall, the catering table is packed with food.]

[Even the helper moogles are taking part in the festivities, with many of them wearing elf or santa costumes. Whether you came early to help set up, or arrived fashionably late, enjoy!]

[Somehow, Jade managed to make himself both useful and actually quite useless during the preparations. Oh, he was around, helping keep things organized... but as for any heavy-lifting? That sort of thing was better left to the youngsters. These old bones just couldn't handle the cold weather.

Miraculously, as soon as the party starts he's suddenly feeling quite spry again and engaging cheerfully with anyone who comes to him for a chat. Not in a Santa costume though (which is probably fortunate for everyone involved) but in something a little more formal. He rarely finds the occasion to dress up these days.]

[As one who has been hanging around since set-up even though he probably had a tonne of other things he needed to get on with outside in the real world, Jade's choice of formal attire makes Sephiroth's hastily-ironed with-no-tie light-gray shirt seem almost dirty in comparison. At least he's left the top-button undone so it doesn't look too odd.

To be true he hadn't been counting on sticking around, but like Jade he's put his effort in and now feels obligated to at least keep the buffet table re-stocked if it needs to be - he was here when people had arrived with the various foods and knew exactly what was available in the back, after all.]

...still here as well?

[He's coming over with a new tray of small minced-fruit pies for the nearby table, balanced up and on one hand so that there is no way anyone would be able to knock them.]

[Don't mind if he helps himself to a pie, then!]

I couldn't leave early after Anise went through all this effort. She can be quite frightening when crossed.

[Is he really talking about the short, pig-tailed 15-year-old who by all accounts is nothing but cute and bubbly? He most certainly is. If Sephiroth has ever caught her reacting to a burned dish with an unexpected explosion of expletives, he may have seen a bit of her true self.]

[There might be a flick of a look that just reads 'Really?' all on it's own; there were two or maybe three left on the tray on the table and Jade's clearly just being opportunist.]

Oh? Can't say that I'd ever see that.

[And down goes the new tray onto the buffet table while with his free hand Sephiroth shifts the few remaining pies from the old arrangement and balances them on top.]

You've known her a lot longer than I, however.

[Rare is the occasion, indeed, that Sephiroth and Anise ever cross paths at home.]
