The Most Wonderful Party of the Year
Who: Anyone and everyone!
Where: Cuppa Kupo
When: December 23rd
Summary: It's time for Cuppa Kupo's first annual Christmas Party! The party details are in an OOC post here and an IC post .
Warnings: None! (At the moment, anyway).

[It's the 23rd of December, and, as promised, Kuppa Cupo has opened its doors for the first (and hopefully not last) Christmas/Starlight party!]
[The entire restaurant is decorated for the season, complete with a large tree near the entrance. The ceiling is covered in lights, and the tables all have matching red and green tablecloths. Near the wall, the catering table is packed with food.]
[Even the helper moogles are taking part in the festivities, with many of them wearing elf or santa costumes. Whether you came early to help set up, or arrived fashionably late, enjoy!]

[ He repeated. It doesn't change his opinions about her at all. In fact, he rather finds it typical of her to look formal at given events like this. Yuri chuckled at her statement. ]
Anise would throw a fit if I didn't look presentable for her cafe's event. I promised to look decent in lieu of not putting on a Santa Suit. Repede got it instead.
[ He shrugged before she started sweeping them up. He grabbed a few more and started to walk. ]
This way and thanks.
no subject
Oh. Well thank you, you're very kind.
[And she supposes it does make her a little happy. She's flattered often on account of her rank, and it isn't as if she's a slob about her appearance on any occasion. Even so, she does appreciate the notice. She follows after him, using her elbow to push her way through the door without upsetting the trays.]
This isn't typical for you, then? You weren't all that unkempt when we first met, it isn't as if you needed that much polishing.
no subject
I suppose, if you want to put it that way, Princess.
[ He chuckled a little bit at her face. Ah, so that was what it was. She was embarrassed he said something nice about her. It's not like he wasn't capable of nice words. He chose to not use them often. Today was an exception and Christmas spirit right? No need to be Scrooge Mcduck now. ]
Not at all. I hate dressing up. Furthermore I don't like being groomed to look a certain so I suppose it's nice to choose how I want to dress.
[ Yuri shrugged as he followed her with the trays. ]
Thanks for the compliment though.
no subject
[Her grin is bright; clearly she meant what she said without an ounce of teasing. Even so, it was not her place to put Yuri in a situation where he would be uncomfortable. It was hard to imagine that anything could put him ill at ease, he always seemed so relaxed. Perhaps his manner of dress had something to do with that?]
And here we are...
[She sets out the trays deftly, doing a far better job of serving than she ever did cooking. That part-time job at the hotel restaurant in Kettleburg gave her some practice at being a waitress.]
Are you cooking as well, or merely placing the food out on the floor?
no subject
[ He raised a brow at her comment. Did she really want to give him a make over? He wasn't exactly the most groomed person but he was pretty good with his hygiene for the most part. It was probably that for sure. Natalia would think that and Yuri would not deny that. ]
Thanks a lot.
[ He replied giving he a compliment for her help. Despite how she was dressed, Natalia certainly carried her own and he had to admit she sort of grew on him as a person. Which wasn't hard for Yuri since he found good qualities about everyone. ]
All of those are the cooked stuff. It's not amazingly fancy but I can say they're pretty damn good.
no subject
[She casts a smile over her shoulder as she sets out the last of the trays then hustles back to the kitchen to pick up another round.]
You must have been very busy cooking all of this. I imagine you must be rather tired?
[Her own shoulders got quite sore when she'd tried to bake all of those cookies in the Santa Village, so Natalia figures he must be feeling the same.]
no subject
[ He chuckled at her response. Yuri was fairly used to it so he just went with it most of the time. ]
Nah, there were others helping here and there. Sure it was a bit of work on my own but it wasn't that time consuming.
[ HE replied to her as he seemed just as fine as he said. ]
no subject
It's the good kind of doubt, if you must know.
[She sweeps up another set of trays, glad to see that their workload is slowly diminishing. People can only eat so much, after all, so it should be Yuri's turn to rest and mingle with the others soon.]
To be quite honest, you impress me. You work hard for the sake of others with no thought to your own needs or comfort. You would have made a fine prince in my world!
no subject
[ He raised a brow at her as she sweeps the trays. She cared way too much about his well being-- much more than he'd like to admit. Yuri and his self care regime wasn't always as functional as he wanted it to be. ]
I'll take that as a compliment, coming from the ever so earnest and sincere Princess.
[ He chuckled. ]
But I'll pass. I'm not suitable for royalty. The things I do and the stuff I had done, weren't worthy of such a compliment but I'll thank you for it.
no subject
[Don't expect her to smile at his sarcasm, though, she's steadfastly ignoring the little jab.]
You were one of the first to respond to my call for aid in Trano Golsaucia, even though you didn't seem to think much of me personally at the time. That is worthy of praise indeed.
[Even so, she waits until they're back in the kitchens before setting down her empty tray and turning to face him directly.]
If I might be so bold, what kind 'stuff' do you mean?
no subject
[ He meant every word of it as he shifted his movements. Even if he was sarcastic about it, there was some sincerity in his tone. All wasn't completely lost. ]
First impressions are everything aren't they princess? Can't say I wasn't a little jaded, considering what I've dealt with.
[ He shrugged. ]
You're better off not knowing.
no subject
[She sighs, resting her hands upon the countertop.]
But I hope you won't allow your previous experiences to reflect poorly on all aristocrats. My father, and the emperor of Malkuth, both care very deeply for the welfare of their people. Therefor I strive to emulate their level of service and care.
[As for his last remark, she settles her hands on her hips and tosses her head.]
Please. You can't seriously believe that. If you don't wish to talk about it then say so, but don't speak to me as if I'm too fragile to handle the truth.
no subject
[ He replied setting a couple of trays near her on the counter top that she rested her hands on. If she's going to help out, he's going to make sure she will do just as much work as he is if not more-- but he's sort of a bully sometimes. ]
That I can't promise, but I can guarantee that I'll have a different opinion once I get to know them. Can't say I can easily just assume that most aristocrats are kind people, when I've dealt with the lather.
[ He shrugged. ]
I do. Whether you want to believe what I have to say or not, doesn't really matter to me. You're right, I'd rather not talk about. Frankly, it's not something I'd go around spilling.
