The Most Wonderful Party of the Year
Who: Anyone and everyone!
Where: Cuppa Kupo
When: December 23rd
Summary: It's time for Cuppa Kupo's first annual Christmas Party! The party details are in an OOC post here and an IC post .
Warnings: None! (At the moment, anyway).

[It's the 23rd of December, and, as promised, Kuppa Cupo has opened its doors for the first (and hopefully not last) Christmas/Starlight party!]
[The entire restaurant is decorated for the season, complete with a large tree near the entrance. The ceiling is covered in lights, and the tables all have matching red and green tablecloths. Near the wall, the catering table is packed with food.]
[Even the helper moogles are taking part in the festivities, with many of them wearing elf or santa costumes. Whether you came early to help set up, or arrived fashionably late, enjoy!]

That's a relief off everyone's minds. And hopefully they'll appreciate the work you've done.
[she smiles back for a moment, but goes quiet, tail flicking. Given the time of year, she's a little worried.]
How have you been holding up?
no subject
It's been something different, for sure-
[He stops, noting the sudden quiet-and-tail-flick. He's really starting to get the hang of miqo'te expressions; who'd have thought!
Sephiroth tries not to let his inward flinch at her question show too much on his face, but the slight tightening to the space between his eyebrows wouldn't be hard for her to miss. A second later though, that hardness softens a little.]
I've been....holding up. [Ugh-]
It's difficult for everyone this year.

She's been around long enough, surely. Certainly enough she doesn't miss that change, her own expression dropping a little. She nods after a moment, hands coming together.]
That's certainly true… Perhaps because the battles are that much closer. But I'm glad to hear that. [she offers a quick smile, tail curling slightly.] The year's end comes, but- so does the beginning of the next, doesn't it? So- I believe- there's hope yet.

It's at the front of everyone's mind that it could be the last Starlight. Not only here on Crystallis, but on any other worlds-equivalent as well. I think Heroes, in particular, are sharply aware of that-
[There'd be no awkward beneath any mistletoe this year. No fireworks while keeping another warm. Sephiroth goes silent, his eyes following an unseen pattern on the floor as those thoughts go on behind his eyes. Eventually he looks up.]
-you know, I've never been one to hope.
no subject
Yes. So much has happened…
[And whatever happens, they're likely to take the brunt of it- the thrust of the attack, the best opportunity there is. K'pandolu stays quiet, thoughts on a similar path. Maybe it'll be the last chance for a lot of things. But still…
She raises her eyebrows, surprised.]
No? I've… thought it was something to help sustain you while fighting. But… you don't?
no subject
[There a hint of a more-confident attitude in his tone of voice that's reflected in the quick sharpness which he answers her. Not looking away from her face, but for a subtle softening of his eyes as Sephiroth then blinks and his eyebrows start to draw in towards what might be considered a half-frown.
His generic pondering face, really.]
Hope is too flighty. Too much ambiguity is a disadvantage.
You have to have goals and objectives, else how do you even go about defining what it is you're fighting for?
no subject
[she twitches one ear back, head tilted lightly.]
Did that ever happen to you?
no subject
You mean...like a mission where the objectives change or adapt? Sometimes.
[Applying that to their current circumstances though...]
It bothers me that a mission, if you will, that is so large-scale as the one we're engaged in doesn't have much more than an obscure heading, at this point. I guess.
