Jade had intended to interject as little as possible, preferring to instead be present as silent support. That plan didn't seem plausible now. The Shadow was already acting violent -- perhaps not too surprising, given what sort of things Sephiroth must have been repressing. Just hearing what it had to say was going to be risky.

However, he was still wary of speaking too hastily. This wasn't his battle, at least not yet.

"If we're judging by the number of lives destroyed, we'll hardly have any humans left in this room." Jade himself certainly wouldn't count as one. The only difference was that he'd been the one conducting experiments rather than the test subject. He didn't care to debate on whether that was better or worse. "Whether you're civilized or not is your choice to make in the present, not something determined by the past. Or by the future, as the case may be."

He said this calmly, keeping a close eye on the Shadow even as his words were directed at both the double and the real thing.
