She'd hoped to- avoid a little of the pain, perhaps. She made a face, ears flattening, and then hissed at Jack's answer to Mary's question, tail lashing. "That's- cruel. Unfair." It made a little more sense, but all the same- "A foul choice indeed," she muttered.

She gave Ramza a thoughtful look, and nodded slowly. She didn't feel it was quite the same- but it was, in a sense, still making the best of what they could. All the same, there was a bitter taste in her mouth.
