Damn, Jaune had just gotten over his self-consciousness and now he's being told that what other people think matter. Which, he supposes, is true to an extent; he had to be chosen as team leader for something Ozpin saw in him. But it's still not a comforting thought for him to accept, because with it those tendrils of doubt have crept back in slightly.

"You mean make people believe something that isn't true. Lie to them." A light bulb clicks on in Jaune's head. "That's why you were pretending to be a guy when we first met, wasn't it? Because you thought that people wouldn't respect you as much as a woman." It wasn't a lie meant to hurt anyone, so so far as Jaune can tell she's not so devious.

"You don't want to go back home?" He can't say he blames her, if she doesn't want to have to live a lie. "It sounds like you'd be giving up a lot." From what he'd gathered she'd made a name for herself, even if it wasn't her own that was known. And she had to have friends and family, right? He couldn't imagine leading a team without knowing they had his back.
